How to unlock the Explosive Temper achievement in Dead Rising 2 - Definitive Guide

The explosive weaponry are as follows.
Rocket Fireworks. (Snowflakes enclosure - Yukatan Casino)
Grenade. (High Noon Shooting store - Palisades Mall *upstairs*)
Dynamite. (Several maintenance rooms - Strip)
Acetylene Tank. (Along the corridors in the South Plaza)
Gasoline Canister. (Behind the customizable bike truck on the Strip)
Propane Tank. (In the room across from the Spiked bat maintenance room, in Royal Flush Plaza beside the Safe House)

The best way in which make sure this works in the case of the weaponry which are canisters. Namely Acetylene Tank, Gasoline Canister, Propane tank, is to throw them into a crowd of zombies. Then shoot the canister, making sure the explosion caused kills some zombies.

Fire crackers can attract zombies to the canisters if your having troubles.

I had problems with this unlocking. I did a little reading and found out that you have to stab the Explosive Fireworks in a zombie's face with a quick (X) button press for it to count. Even then it didn't unlock until I started the game up again later. Hope this helps anyone having problems with it unlocking.

is there a way to reset the tracker by any chance as I have died many times after getting to like 90% and then trying to remember which 1's I have missed on all cheevos (head trauma, zombrex posters, Slaughter etc.)

The other solution is great for finding the explosives. This is the checklist I used on 360 and am currently using on the one.

Make sure to shoot the tanks/explosives (if needed) and kill a zombie with the explosion.

As all other multi-playthrough achievements, there have been reports of it not unlocking when it should. Try to contain the requirements in one playthrough, to be on the safe side.

  • Firecrackers

  • Rocket Fireworks

Use the Weapons Checklist below to keep track of the explosives you've used. Note that you don't have to kill the zombie, just hit them. Apparently hits on gas zombies do not count for the weapons trophies, so make sure to hit a normal zombie.
