How to unlock the Bag of Chips achievement in Dead Rising 3 - Definitive Guide

Ok, I am writing this as of the 15th of Feb 2015 (I am stating this because I have seen a fair few people complain that this achievement was bugged but as of this time it has been fixed).

This is a relatively straight forward achievement and is quite easy albeit a little tedious.

As part of the main storyline you will have to collect ZDC chips for Cora, these first ZDC chips you have to collect are all in Sunset Hills and DON'T count towards the achievement....once you collect these and hand them back into Cora, she will give you a side quest which IS the part that counts towards the achievement.
Once again this is really straightforward, there are 10 ZDC chips to collect in each of the 4 suburbs (4 x 10 = 40....for a total of 40). However, there are only 5 blue diamonds in each district, this is because each blue diamond has 2 kings (i;e: 2 chips). Now what people complained about being buggy was that if you killed the bikers (main storyline quest after you investigate the explosions/ when you get the ZDC chip side mission) the achievement didn't seem to pop once you collected all the chips/ some chips didn't appear on the map. When I did this I had killed 3 of the 6 bikers and it worked perfectly fine so this has obviously been fixed.

It has not been fixed, Im playing and all the collectibles show on my map but none of them are on their places... Just dont know what to do.

Your experience isn't necessarily the same for everyone. I killed all 6 bikers on 08/04/15 and a chip is missing. 'obviously' there are still issues that can occur.

Should've unlocked this yesterday...but mine is stuck @ Done...Unlocking. I know i'll get it eventually but apparently not all issues are fixed for this one yet.

Not sure what the problem is. I got the side quest for all chips, ignored the explosion, there was a diamond for each king which means there was 10 per district. All chips fell. Achievement unlocked.

I just had this glitch on me yesterday 6/22/16. I investigated the explosion first and ended up one chip short. I finished story mode for DLC and burned bodies plus got the other 20 collectibles on the first play through. Started a new game and didn't investigate explosion and was able to get all 40 of these second time around.

My game is stuck on the main mission Collect chips from kings. I collected every chips in Sunset Hills, than nothing...

FYI this is definitely not fixed. Ended up with 9/10 chips in Sunset. The one missing was nowhere to be found.

I thought I had this glitched at 9/10 in Sunset too. Once I picked up one chip the diamond went away even though the second was on the ground. In my case in the parking lot behind Severed Ties, I killed only one king and the other somehow spawned under the car. I found it by moving the car.

My diamonds disappeared from map and the quest read 8/10. One on the ground in the alley behind Severed Ties and the other underneath the car. Please edit this solution and add aenima122's comment into it. Saved me another play through of the DLC. Thanks to both of you for the guide and bug workaround. +1.

This is part of The Last Agent DLC.

There are 40 ZDC chips around the environment; 10 in each area, to be exact. The Chips will not be available until the side mission is granted to you by Cora. The ZDC Chips will be indicated by a blue side mission marker on your in-game map. When you arrive at an indicated area, you must kill two kings; each will drop a Chip.

After completing the story quest to collect Zombrex chips, you will be given additional. the task is to collect 10 more chips for each district, we collect, we get an achievement.

Be careful - chips can fly down through the textures in explosions. And then start the game from the checkpoint.
