DO NOT FORM A PARTY BEFORE YOU START - this caused issues every time.
All get into the game and go into the DLC. Have the host select the map you want and leave it on 4 players. Then the host can press Y on that screen (do not hit Start Game yet) to add the other three people to A PARTY AND GAME (important you choose that rather than just add to party). Once they all join the party THEN press Start Game.
If you do this right the host should go straight to the character select screen and the other players will automatically join from the menu screen without having to respond to an invite. From there just choose your character and off you go. On one occasion it didn't drag everyone in - so I backed out and tried again and it worked that time.
If you missed a step or created the party before I said, then it may boot you out (saying the party status has changed) or the host will get the "searching for game" screen rather then the character screen. If that happens back out and make sure you followed the steps.
Word to the wise: it would kick one of us out after EVERY round. So we would have to go through the whole thing again (disband the party first, then go into the options again and re-add them). But it pretty much worked everytime and if done right the other players never need to accept an invite as they will be pulled into your game automatically.

Great guide. we had 2 sessions and couldn't do even 1 match together. with your method we could all stay together and beat the cheevo. Thanks a lot :)

Unfortunately this didn't work for four of us who tried today. Any one else have any other suggestions? We also tried to join a four player game not in a party but this also didn't work.

We played in a 4 player Gaming Session for this achievement and played only twice in 3 hours!

This achievement took about an hour for all 4 of us to obtain so have that time set aside.
Now for the actual method of connection, what you’re going to want to do is NOT be in a party upon loading up a game, create a group chat so you can still communicate and have 1 player set up a lobby on ingleton, make sure it is a 4 player game. Once the lobby is up have every one else search Ingleton, 4 player lobby. You should connect with everyone in 2-3 minutes. Once again the key is to not be in a party at all, we tried being in a party for 4 hours and it did not work, however worked first try without party. Other then connecting it’s an extremely easy achievement, good luck!

When you are picking your district, change the number of players to four. It will auto invite anybody in your party but you can just wait it out until four people join. The higher tiered the costume, the easier it is to come in first. You can also refer to XBA Sessions to find three other players who will let you win.
