How to unlock the District Wizard achievement in Dead Rising 3 - Definitive Guide

To get an S rank on a district, you need to earn a certain amount of points before the end of all 5 rounds. If you're using some of the later character costumes, it won't be hard at all to rack up huge points and get S ranks easily. I found the best characters for S Ranks were BB Hood, Sigma and Regina.

In fact, I got all of my S ranks by playing solo on my first try (except the first district). Here are some general tips to rack up huge points, as well as approximately how many you'll need for the S Rank on each level.

I found that on rounds where you needed to destroy certain objects (Big Bombs, Generators, etc.), BB Hood was the best character to use. His Special will wipe out literally any object in the way and crank out like 50-60k points per object. On levels where there were bosses, BB Hoods Y button attack is also extremely effective, as it not only stuns the boss, but also deals out very good damage, even without the POW upgrade.

So, in terms of how many points you need, I found this for the levels (again, these are just approximations, so it could be more or less).

Ingleton ~741k
Central City ~1.09 million
Sunset Hills ~1.01 million
South Almuda ~ 2.09 million

Again, these numbers aren't set in stone, that's just around what I got for points when I S ranked those levels.

User Deranged Asylum was kind enough to provide videos of himself completing these districts with S Ranks so everyone can have a kind of idea of what's needed to get S Ranks. Much thanks!

Completing objectives building up combos and good use of your special abilities all help towards obtaining an S Rank and I wouldnt waste too much time grabbing coins as I dont think they add to your final score just give you lots of Zenny for revives and costumes. Seems scores vary I got 680,000 on Ingleton but I think thats the minimum you can get away with.

OK, I tried it again for the third time, using BB Hood, and I got it to unlock! You need more than 700K S rank to get it, I don't think anything below 700K will count even though it's counted as S.

Yeah sometimes it ranges from what I've noticed, like with Ingleton, it said I had S Rank but didn't count until I did it again and cleared 700k.

Well that is annoying... just got an S rank on the 3rd area and it didn't pop the achievement or unlock the costume it was supposed to. Was playing 4 player co-op, which hasn't been a problem with other areas...

Yeah I've cleared Ingleton with an S rank numerous times, but it won't give me credit, so I have 4 glitched achievements now!

I don't know why you have only 18 positive votes. This is a superb solution! Thank you very much!

I think the S rank might depend on how many players are in the game. More players equals a higher score required. I did it all solo, the first 3 maps I scored between 900,000 and 975,000 points and got an S rank. As for south almuda, I scored over 2 million. But that's because the final boss adds time to the timer. Don't quote me on if it matters on how many people for the score.

705k gets you an S on Ingleton, Solo.
992k gets you an S on Central, Solo.

So what's the best way to get points? Complete rounds quickly or use the remaining time to kill as many zombies as possible?

@MarioToo - That happened to me as well, I had to get more points on a second run and it counted for me.

@Ibanez V7 - I find the best way to get points fast is to blasting through the levels as fast as I can, and if there's any downtime go for the kachichi powerups (5k points each) as well as the special zombies (sword and shield) or the bikers if there are any nearby.

Just a side note to the great solution above: You don't actually have to clear the district to get the S rank. I ran out of time on Sunset Hills fighting the Shadow Boss, but I still had enough points to get credit for the S rank.
