How to unlock the Envious achievement in Dead Rising 3 - Definitive Guide

I’m sharing my experience with this achievement because I had trouble getting the psycho mission to trigger, which is called “Single White Male”.

On my initial play through I missed this mission (also don’t remember ever seeing it offered to me), so I went back using chapter select to try to pick this up. The mission should trigger in chapter 7, but I could not get this to happen using chapter select. I’ve read on other websites that doing the side mission in chapter 3 called “Time for a Hero” (where you initially meet Kenny) isn’t a pre-requisite, but that is NOT the experience I had with this mission. Also, using chapter select might completely void the opportunity for this mission to trigger, at least that's one of the possibilities.

Regardless, the way I was able to get this was on my Nightmare Mode run. I went through the game ignoring all side missions except for “Time for a Hero” in chapter 3. When I got to chapter 7, about 15 seconds after the mission started I received the call for the “Single White Male” psycho mission and was able to get the achievement.

Also don’t forget to pick up the tragic ending collectible that is on the yacht in the area of this psycho mission. The only time you can collect it is when the yacht is opened up for this mission as you can’t get there in any other chapter. If you finish the story and forget you will have to replay the whole story again to gain access to the yacht for this mission and collect it.

I got the call for this mission on my first playthrough, but after messing up a side mission and reloading the checkpoint, I was transported FORWARD in the timeline (as if I had visited the next yellow story marker) and always had someone accompany me then. :(

I can confirm the mission unlocks by using ch select. Just start ch 7 from ch select. First the Memory Lane mission spawns, a minute or so after the psycho mission spawns. Just wait where you spawn when the ch starts untill you receive the psycho side mission.

Kenny is the nerdy little turd who was in the construction yard that you rescued and taught how to craft weapons early on in the game (if you did that side-quest). Once you begin Chapter 7, you will get a notification that Kenny has kidnapped someone. While he has a lot of health, he is easily stunned by melee attacks. If you combo a weapon during combat, this will also distract him. After the fight, the end decision is yours to make and the achievement will come either way.

The last psycho in the game. On foreign sites it was said that something needs to be done for it to appear, personally, when I was running on a nightmare (doing only the plot), it appeared for me, so don’t worry, don’t miss it.

As I understand it, in order for him to appear, you need to complete a task with him at a construction site. Where you need to kill 5 zombies with your bare hands.
