How to unlock the Nightmare Master achievement in Dead Rising 3 - Definitive Guide
** Possible Small Spoilers Below **
Nightmare Mode is the same as the Story mode except the Game no longer Auto-saves (meaning if you die you start back at the last time you saved the game which can be a huge headache!) and also you have less time to complete the game before the bomb goes off (2 in-game days less).
I do NOT recommend this mode for your first play through unless you are a veteran of the series and know what you are in for.
My tips for completing this without any trouble:
1) SAVE OFTEN! I cannot stress this enough, because if you die you can lose a whole lot of progress and may cause you to throw your controller at the wall.
The Easiest way to do this is to look at the map and go to the closest safe house you can find as they always have a save point in them, this is far easier than trying to locate one elsewhere.
2) Be level 50 with all attributes upgraded fully and also have unlocked the combo weapon abilities where you can combine almost anything (Note: You will have to have a fair amount of blueprints).
This isn't required but is strongly recommended as this gives you perks like regenerating health, indestructible vehicles and so forth.
3) Always have a range Weapon (I always used the Z.A.R which is just two guns combined), A Good Melee Weapon (any will do, just combine any combination of knives/blunt weapons) and an Energizer Drink (this drink makes you invincible for around 4 minutes, just combine 2 soft drinks to make it however you must have unlocked the ability to combine drinks/food in your attributes panel).
Keep this drink until you really need it or use it when facing bosses to make them a breeze, very easy to remake as well, just go to any fast food joint/restaurant and restock.
4) Ignore all side missions and Optional Bosses, just focus on the main storyline and you should have no problem getting to the end with plenty of time to spare.
5) Right at the end of the game you will have the option of killing Gary or going to find Rhonda and bringing her back to him. Kill Gary, its far faster, less chance of dieing and is just generally easier. This Method means that you will NOT trigger overtime mode after completing Chapter 7 (you don't need to do overtime mode to obtain the achievement).
Killing Gary gives you an ending where you will not unlock everything, both achievement wise (Completing overtime mode) and in-game wise (New Gun). So if you want these things find Rhonda instead.
Hope these tips help anyone looking to obtain this achievement.
It really isn't too hard, following my tips above I completed the whole thing in under 4 hours and didn't die once.
Enjoy.

I’ll fess up and say that it was me who down voted, and I coincidentally came back here to see if the solution had changed, and it had. Therefore I changed my vote back to positive again (went from Positive>Negative>back to Positive). From what I’ve seen I was the only downvoter in the first place (???)
I felt the the way the solutuion was worded, along with one of the replies above, made it appear that striving for Overtime was not a viable notion on Nightmare. In reality, it is very very easy, and to many gamers obtaining the Mega Blasters is very important to them. Being leveled up you can do the small extra part neccesary in Chapter 7 to unlock Overtime without getting hurt even if you use an Energizer drink. Then you get your achievement, at which time you can do Overtime at your leisure. Maybe I overreacted with the initial downvote but I had every intention to change the vote, which I did. Thanks for adding more clarity in regards to your final choice in the game!

Everything from a previous game carries over when you start a new game, even flicking between nightmare mode and normal doesn't matter, you can even be chapter specific when starting i.e choose to start from chapter 4 instead of starting again if you wanted and it would still carry over your stats.
The only thing you cant do is start a new game on say normal then start a new game on nightmare and play on each of them separately, you can only have one campaign going at a time.
I would recommend playing through Normal mode again (as I'm assuming you are new to the dead rising series) to complete all the achievements you want/level up your guy more, then do a speed run on nightmare mode (tips shown above in solution).
In regards to the PP trials however, the final one requires you to kill a total of around 320k zombies (ALOT more than the 100k for the achievement) so I wouldn't bother completing this one until after you have gotten every other pp trial done and completed your speed run, just to maximize your time.
Hope this helps, any other queries, feel free to ask.

If I can offer possibly the easiest way to get this achievement? Have a friend save near the end of chapter 7. Then have him invite you in, finish the chapter and *pop*.
If you want to get this achievement really quickly without playing the entire game again on Nightmare, and don't have a friend who has a save near the end, its still doable.
Go to Online, Multiplayer, Nightmare then pick speed run.
Now search for a game. I got dropped into a guys game at Chapter 6 on my first try, and took 30mins to complete Chapter 7.
Due to him putting speed run, I knew he was just blasting through it. If you get put into a game at say Chapter 1, just back out and search again.

Da Lukinator has everything down to a tee, just wanted to mention some of the differences between both difficulties.
1) You'll notice in regular mode that as you progress through the chapters, more roads get blocked off (by military, walls, debris etc..). In nightmare, right off the bat most of those roads will already be blocked off and it will progressively get worse as you move along through the story.
2) In regular mode, there's not a crazy amount of cars scattered around the city (if you didn't notice). If you've ever said "why the hell is there no vehicles when I need one?"… In nightmare you'll be saying "why the hell is there no vehicles?"… So again, make sure the attributes for "Mechanic" is maxed, because vehicles are very limited.
3) Like Da Lukinator mentioned.. SAVE EVERYWHERE AND ANYWHERE.. You can't save from the menu, and you also don't save from completing chapters. When ever you see a porta-potty OR you're in a safe house.. spare yourself the frustration and take a nice piss (A.K.A save lol). You can lose a lot of game progress if you die or the host disconnects from the internet randomly.
4) Although you don't have to do all the Psychopath (boss) battles, there are some mandatory ones. They have the same amount of health, but take a lot less damage from your weapons. I recommend using the super-combo weapon called "Elemental Staff". This gun is super savvy and hands down my favourite combo. (You can switch through the elements of the staff simply by pressing (Y)".
5) Also quoting Da Lukinator, ignore every side mission. This is because you'll notice the days are a lot quicker. Side missions have nothing to do with the main storyline (thus the title side mission).
Having a second person is EXTREMELY helpful if you have anybody willing to speed run through the story with you.
(SPOILER FOR THE END OF NIGHTMARE MODE)
Good luck!

If you join a freind's online game and beat Overtime, does the thing you mentioned in the spoiler still happen, or do you have to play the entirety of Nightmare mode on your own?

@range is good, you can join a friends game, and finish chapter 8 and get it, that's how my friend got the suit, good guide as well!

Okay, I did this once getting to level 50 and being fully upgraded, because that really help me a lot. I could make combos with almost any 2 items. I also had the X Buster, but because I was recording I avoided using it unless necessary. I found this to be very easy. I didn't die once but I did keep saving just in case, The worst thing is, if you leave your Xbox for a while, it may turn off and if you haven't saved you have to restart from your last save.
I advise you avoid ALL side missions including psychopaths
I hope this and/or my video helps you.

This isn't too hard. If you have the DLC use the mini turret. If not get the ultimate shout. I suggest doing one play through getting all the perks, then you'll be fine. Did this in about 4 hours didn't die once so I didn't need to save at all but if you are worried about it just save after each chapter.
Story related, cannot be missed if playing in Nightmare Mode. It is best to complete the Story Mode and then turn Nightmare Mode into your New Game+. Also, if you want, you can obtain this achievement by joining a friends game if they are in Nightmare Mode Chapter 7. Complete the chapter with them and the achievement will unlock.

It's better to play at normal level. complexity, level up to level 50 (see: to the limit!) and then boldly go into the nightmare and stupidly run through the company, it won’t be too difficult for you to level up. It is better to have a combo weapon A.Z.A. (gunshot + firearm) well, the best thing is Jazz fingers (gunshot + gloves) It knocks down bosses in one go, and it works very effectively against a crowd of zombies interfering with you. It will take about 4 hours, maybe a little more.

Combo weapons A.Z, A are obtained by combining an assault rifle and a shotgun
