How to unlock the Slothful achievement in Dead Rising 3 - Definitive Guide

You will get this achievement for "defeating" Theodore.

I got this psycho mission on day 3 (if I remember correctly it's during chapter 5).
You will get a call and a side mission which tells you to investigate a mansion/residence - it's the big one in the upper right corner of the map.

Defeating him is quite easy because you don't need to fight him at all. After a cut scene in the mansion you'll be attacket by mini-helicopters - ignore them.
Run to the locked door and try to get in to activate your next targets - the security boxes.
You'll get markers for the locations of the security boxes. Destroy them and the locked door will open.

After entering the door and another cut scene your achievement should unlock!

Oh man, seems that DR3 is a glitchy mess. As you can see from the votes the solution is correct. I have issues with two achievements from DLC No3. I read so many different reports on glitchy achievements in this game - it seems to be quite random in this game. Take a look at xboxachievements.com - maybe there is a solution for this glitch in the DR3 forum. I'll let you know when i find something.

Do you have to play til a certain point in Chapter 5? I have to chapter select because I need the key for the armory for a frank statue last one I need. All I got is the yoga studio when I loaded chapter 5 right away.

Yes you have to Progress a bit through chapter 5 and then you will get the call for this Psycho Mission. (I also had to do this again because of the key for the frank statue)

Yeah I did it a week ago thanks though for pointing out the chapter. I needed a tragic event in there thought it was a frank statue. I also had to do some of the main story again for the guy to show up. Now for 200,000 kills yeah that's insane. I'll just get the DLC someday to do that.

I'm so mad I had to look up the guide for this. I've been conditioned that if I see a door that says "locked" on it, I don't bother trying to open it. Of course, the ONE TIME you're supposed to, I just run around like a moron for 15 minutes looking for a key

Is it just me, or are the psychopaths really easy to beat in this game? I've beaten every one so far on my first try.

The game itself seems really easy too. I've only died once in about 15 hours of gameplay.

You're right! I think it's okay because the fun factor in the base game is great :)

Dead Rising 3 Slothful Achievement

Once you reach Chapter 5 you'll have time to explore as usual and soon enough you'll be offered the mission "Remotely Helpful", which sends you off to the NE part of Sunset Hills to deal with the Mayor's son, and your next Psycho nemesis, Sloth. If you've been keeping up with your side quests you may know that he has the key to the Central City Police Department's armory, so between that and this achievement, killing him is pretty rewarding.

This fight is considerably different from other boss fights thus far because you never actually fight him, but instead you must destroy security power boxes throughout the house while dealing with his RC helicopter drones that will be following you around and shooting at you. I highly recommend bringing at least one follower with a gun (preferrably Assault Rifle), and they will deal with drones with their auto-aim while you run around the house blowing up the security system. Once the security system is down, head into the basement and the "fight" is over.

Theodore is also in Chapter 5. Once you receive the side mission, "Remotely Helpful", you will be able to travel to the north eastern part of Sunset Hills and take on this Psycho. Well... kind of, you never actually fight Theodore. Instead, you need to destroy the security power boxes that are in the house while you take out his annoying RC helicopters. The helicopters will follow you around and shoot at you while you're trying to take out the power boxes. A good strategy here is to bring a follower and equip them with an assault rifle so that they can deal with the drones while you worry about the power boxes. Once the security system has been dispatched, head to the basement to finish the fight.

A message should come that whoever is in the mansion, this psycho will be there (I had him at the end of Chapter 5)
