How to unlock the Survival Training Master achievement in Dead Rising 3 - Definitive Guide
25 different Survival Trainings can be found throughout the game. They are marked as stars on the map, initially appearing in black and changing to the color of your highest medal after completion. I found them extremely easy to complete to gold at level 50 with max stats. Just make sure you know where you need to go from the starting point to find big groups of zombies.
General kills: You can use anything. A RollerHawg will make it trivial.
Kills with vehicles/combo vehicles: Use a RollerHawg.
Kills with combo weapons: I generally would use the Split Shot but any combo weapon will work.
Kills with fire weapons: I used an Electrofire Staff (you toggle between fire and electric by using the Y attack- once it is toggled to fire, use the X attack).
Kills with shock weapons: I used Electrofire Staff (you toggle between fire and electric by using the Y attack- once it is toggled to electric, use the X attack).
Kills with firearms: I used the Split Shot.
Melee kills: I'd punch or kick until at a 5 combo, then use the Hammer Spin skill move (grab a zombie with Y+B and hold right on the left stick).

General kills: RollerHawgs or Ultimate Grim Reapers make it a joke!!!
Kills with combo weapons: Again, Ultimate Grim Reapers (Edit: and Jazz Hands) make it a joke!!! (I hit the button maybe 4 times, and I got gold!!)
Kills with fire weapons: Ultimate Grim Reapers or the Fire Reaper (Actually, I haven't tried the Ultimate Grim Reaper, but I'm going to see if it counts as fire or explosive) (Just out of curiosity, I wanna check if the Rollerhawg's weapon counts as well)
Kills with firearms: I used the Z.A.R. (plus Jazz Hands are incredible!!!!) after I unlocked the piercing ability (Late in game, when you have a huge chunk of zombies piled together....easy!!!)
Melee kills: I haven't done this yet (too scared, lol), but your idea sounds REALLY good!!!

Just to add: fire kills- RollerHawg
Electric Kills: Use the vehicle that uses the ambulance.
Firearms and combo weapons-teddy bears with splitshot to make it easier
I only needed level 50 for the melee kills since you can max out everything like health regen, unlimited run, equip all books and melee damage to make it 10x easier. The rest I did at level 20-30.

If you look at your map, you will notice some star icons. These particular icons indicate Survival Training challenges that can be completed for huge PP bonuses. Each of the challenges will require you to kill a specific number of enemies with a specific type of weapon or vehicle. The catch is, you only have a minute to complete the training sessions. Many of these challenges can be completed using The Rollerhawg to quickly flatten your foes. The more challenging unarmed training sessions can be completed using the unarmed bonus damage book and knee drop combo. If you're having any issue with completing the Survival Training, there's a really good guide here detailing them further.

Knock out medals ONLY with an Internet connection, otherwise your progress will stop at 96% and that’s it, there will be no completion. I ran into it!

These courses are marked with a star on the map, they are all quite easy, in 1 minute you must kill zombies in one way or another.

You shouldn't waste your time on testing at the beginning of the game. With a regular car or a simple weapon, you won’t be able to get gold, but with upgraded vehicles and weapons everything becomes simple. I recommend taking on the tests after level 50, when it becomes possible to make your vehicle “immortal” (your vehicle will explode only when will turn over). This way, after each test, you won’t run back to the garage through crowds of zombies to rivet a new car. The best vehicle for testing in general is a motorized roller. The only negative for me is that if he runs into barrels or cars, they immediately explode, causing him damage. This is where the transport perk comes in handy, which becomes available after level 50. With him, we won’t give a damn about damage to the car (it will explode if you just roll over). Best firearm: jazz hands and multi-barrel. The best electric weapons: electric staff (namely its strong attack) and electric scream. Best Fire: Electric Fire Staff. With this weapon you will mow down crowds of zombies very quickly (I usually had 20 seconds left when I took gold). It is better to complete the tests where you need to kill zombies with your bare hands when you get the “stuntman” book, which increases the damage from melee attacks. Damage is also affected by leveling up the “hand-to-hand combat” attribute.
