How to unlock the Survival Training Specialist achievement in Dead Rising 3 - Definitive Guide

To unlock 'Survival Training Specialist' you need to unlock at least a bronze medal on 25 of the Survival Training challenges.

These challenges are located around Los Peridos as stars on the minimap. When you complete a challenge, the star will change colour to indicate what level you completed it at (Bronze/Silver/Gold).

There are multiple types of challenges, and below I've included videos of Gold medals on each kind of challenge.

For optimal use, you want to utilise the following :

Buzz Kill - Kills with shock weapons. I'd recomend the Electric Staff. The ElectroIce staff works too, but is less effective. Shock Gloves are also handy for the single enemies.

Right To Bare Arms - Kills with firearms. This sounds daunting, but if you use combo firearms it's really easy. Go for the Split-Shot (Assault Rifle + Lead Pipe) or the Z.A.R. (Shotgun + Assault Rifle).

D.I.Y. Sucka - Combo Weapon kills. Another easy one. Any of the super combo weapons should work well here, but ideally you want to use either the Ultimate Grim Reaper or the Electric/Electrofire Staff.

Hit and Run - Vehicle kills. Super easy, as combo vehicle kills count. Use either the RollerHog or the TurretRig.

Kill Frenzy - Anything Goes. Easiest one really. Use anything. Combo vehicles such as the RollerHog or TurretRig, or the Ultimate Grim Reaper. Take your pick.

Chop Shop - Combo Vehicle kills. Use either the RollerHog or the TurretRig.

Burn Baby Burn - Fire Kills. By far the easiest way is to use the Ultimate Grim Reaper. Or the flamethrower on the RollerHog is nice too.

Fists First - Unarmed Kills. By far the most difficult. Combos and specials are the keys here, I'd recomend (A+Y) for a single zombie, or an (X,X,X,X,X) combo trying to hit as many as you can. (Y,Y) works well too for a group. The key here is, when you get your special move up, grab a zombie using (Y+B) and use the spin move (Tap Rstick to the right) and try to take out as many as you can.

I don't understand why this achievement popped for me but the Bronze one didn't. If you get gold on all of them, shouldn't they all pop at the same time?

Yea, I got the gold in all of them but still have yet to get the bronze and silver achievements even though the progress still says %100 for them. Any way to fix that?

If you waited to do this, the Mega Buster works perfectly for the gun and electric kills.

If you look at your map, you will notice some star icons. These particular icons indicate Survival Training challenges that can be completed for huge PP bonuses. Each of the challenges will require you to kill a specific number of enemies with a specific type of weapon or vehicle. The catch is, you only have a minute to complete the training sessions. Many of these challenges can be completed using The Rollerhawg to quickly flatten your foes. The more challenging unarmed training sessions can be completed using the unarmed bonus damage book and knee drop combo. If you're having any issue with completing the Survival Training, there's a really good guide here detailing them further.

Note: I did not create the below, linked guide.
