How to unlock the Full Wardrobe achievement in Dead Rising 4 - Definitive Guide

If, like me, you are having trouble finding that 60th star to unlock Akuma try this. I had counted the map, all the layers, upper/ground/lower over and over and still could only count 59 stars. Had even started a new game just in case I had quit out early and one had not counted. Not so. The trick for me was it was on the Fireworks stand between West Ridge and North Peak in the farming area. It was covered up on the map by the Bear Icon (signifying the Firework Stand) and the legend icon for the Arcade Machine (character select). If you are still missing a star and none are showing on your map try this location, see if it's your missing star.

Upon completion of this achievement, you will also get this one at the same time:
Dead Rising 4Capcom HeroThe Capcom Hero achievement in Dead Rising 4 worth 417 pointsCapcom Heroes - Complete all Hero Training.

EDIT: Credit for this info goes to Faustus PHD. You actually need to finish the game to unlock the second classic Frank costume.

To unlock all heroes, you need to collect all 60 stars, complete up to case 5 and purchase four costumes from the safe houses.

Here is a video of the locations of every star, however you can alternatively purchase the collectible maps for them to find yourself.

There are two different hero training missions for each of the costumes, except for classic frank. There is only one hero training mission for him(I believe so, if I am incorrect, please let me know. I have no recollection of completing two training missions for him.)

Here is a video of each of the hero training missions:

Time for each costume:
Classic Frank-0:00
Megaman X-1:42
Ryu-3:42
Dante-5:59
Cammy-8:39
Viewtiful Joe-11:39
Mech Zangief-14:21
M. Bison-17:41
Adam The Clown-20:30
Arthur-22:47
Bass-25:14
Morrigan-28:11
Sissel-32:38
Zombie Frank-35:12
Jill Valentine-38:26
Amaterasu-42:50
Akuma-45:56

If you give me negative feedback, please let me know why or PM me so that I can improve on my future solutionstoast

ok, it doesn't show how to get up to where the star is in 3:26, I can't figure out how the heck to get up there since the other way by the Deli is blocked by a board now........

Update: Nevermind, figured it out, blue veggie stand by exit of Medieval Town

Next question(s): (In video 7/60) There is a star behind sealed doors to the right of Slappy's Fun Shack in Miami Boardwalk, is that one I can't pick up until much later in the game? (judging by the map, it looks like you get there from the tunnel from North Point)

The second one I can't figure out, (In video 9/60) in the upper level between Miami Boardwalk and Caribbean Cove....sounds like the army is up there, is that later game as well?

Update #2: Nevermind, figured it out again....it appears ALL collectables in the mall CAN be picked up during Case 1....except the 2 mentioned above, the door to the right of Slappy's and the blockade preventing you from going up to the upper floor opens up right when you start Case 2........so in short....

You can nab all collectables except those 2, finish the case by
, then run back in the mall for those two stars, then you shouldn't have to go back to the mall unless you are getting the cheevo for Alan walking in those 2 stores

The stars aren't easiest to find on the video, nor in a clear order.
Is there any way to make this easier OP?

Yeah, I didn't buy any Arcade maps til I got to North Point (due to the lack of cars there) so the Arcade icon overlaps weren't a problem for me, lol

can someone tell how much the costumes that need to be purchased are? Are the amounts reasonable or will I have to grind for cash?

The maximum price is for the costume in North peak which is 20,000 scrap. The rest are 10,000 and 5,000 iirc

Can someone tell me how to get the star in the salvage yard? I've tried jumping from the bus but that hasn't worked. I can't find a way to get a vehicle into the area either.

You need to get a proper run from the bus. It's really annoying to land it but that's the only way.

Yeah, you have to jump off the bus at the last possible second to grab the ledge to the far right of the star. Took me a few minutes to get it right.

No, you must case select from case 4. I believe that is the correct case.

It’s worth a shot to check if you can make it there but I don’t think so

Thanks, pretty sure it is because I've posted the same solution twice, once here and also for Capcom Hero. I felt it would be helpful to have both guides with sufficient information. I'll take my lumps.

Great guide! Very useful. SHadow Frank is unlocked for completing Capcom Heroes, so no second trial for him.

Hey just incase anyone is in a similar spot as I was having 59/60 stars.
For me it was the sneaky fireworks stand one, think the icons overlapping made it hard to see. Hope this helps someone.

I'm actually in the process of writing a solution for some of the harder stars to find, it may be up hopefully tomorrow.....just like I wrote above, my guide should help with where and when you can grab some of the stars

There are 34 costumes in all to unlock – 17 main costumes, and 17 “shadow” variants. With one exception (Classic Frank), all shadow variants are unlocked by finishing the second level of a character’s costume training. These training sessions are fairly straightforward challenges similar to the Princess Wasp ones from Frank Rising, i.e. they’re things like “kill X enemies in Y amount of time,” “kill X enemies with weapon Y,” etc. The training sessions for each costume become unlocked once you’ve unlocked that particular costume, and will show up on your map.

For the costumes that need collectibles, with the exception of the Amaterasu ones, you can buy maps for them in the safe houses (this time you don’t need to level them up). Also note that, for the collectible stars, while most are pretty straightforward, there are a few in West Ridge that will require you to get an ambulance or other tall vehicle to climb up to otherwise inaccessible areas (including one on top of the roadside Fireworks stand - that star doesn't show up on your map). There is also one on a roof immediately east of the North Peak safe house – to get to that, you’ll have to drive a vehicle up the ramp next to the safe house and land on the roof. Requirements for the costumes that are not unlocked by finishing hero training are as follows:

  • Adam the Clown – Finish case 2.
  • Akuma – Find all 60 collectible stars. If you’re stuck on 59 and there's nothing showing up on your map, the last one will be the one on the roof of the Fireworks Stand in the farm area of West Ridge. You’ll need a tall vehicle to climb up there. There’s a tractor in a field up the hill that should do.
  • Amaterasu – Find all 3 Amaterasu collectibles. See "Gong Show" for their locations.
  • Arthur – Finish case 3.
  • Bass – Buy it at the West Ridge emergency shelter.
  • Cammy - Buy it from the Mall emergency shelter.
  • Classic Frank – You start with this, and revert to it anytime another costume’s time expires.
  • Classic Frank (Shadow) – Finish case 6.
  • Dante – Find 4 collectible stars.
  • Jill Valentine – Finish case 5.
  • M. Bison – Find 15 collectible stars.
  • Mech-Zangief – Buy it at the Old Town emergency shelter.
  • Mega Man X – Find 2 collectible stars. This is unmissable, and will be unlocked during case 0.
  • Morrigan – Finish case 4.
  • Ryu – Finish case 0.
  • Sissel – Buy it at the North Peak emergency shelter.
  • Viewtiful Joe - Finish case 1.
  • Zombie Frank – Find 30 collectible stars.
