Your Jorunalism Score is your total game completion. At the end of each case your progress is shown and your journalism title is given. In order to unlock this achievement you will need 100% single-player completion. 100% multiplayer completion is not needed for this achievement. To get the Mast Journalist ranking, you must:
Complete all story cases
Simply play through the story. You can come back and select any cases once you've completed them to unlock any additional achievements.
Unlock all skills
You'll need to be at least level 100 before all of the skills become available, and you should have just about enough points to unlock all of them once you do. There also also several skills unlocked from magazines found throughout Willamette. I'll update the guide once I have the locations of them all.
If you've completed the story and still need to reach level 100 (I finished at level 71), I would recommend going for the Left 100,004 Dead 2 achievement if you haven't already. Otherwise, completing trials will give you a considerable amount of PP.
Acquire all blueprints
There are 55 blueprints acquired from completing cases or found throughout Willamette. At each shelter you can purchase maps from the Locations Vendor that will show you all of the blueprints in each district. Some of the blueprints will be locked inside panic rooms or storage closets, which you'll need the keys to access. Maps for their locations can be purchased as well. You can find a guide on all blueprint locations here:
Acquire all notebook items
You'll need to collect all newspapers, cell phones, podcasts, cloud uploads and take a photo of each key character.
You can purchase maps for the collectibles from the Locations Vendor in each emergency shelter, but the maps for uploads and zombie tags require each shelter to be level 5. For the most part, the Seasoned Journalist achievement covers everything:
For the character photos, you'll want to be diligent about taking them as soon as you can, as most characters only show up for a brief moment in certain cases. There are 16 characters in total.
Frank Algernon West - Unlocked by default
Vick Chu - Unlocked by default
Kylie Hammond - Cases 2, 4, 5
Jessa Yatsuda - Cases 2, 4
Jordan Maxwell - Cases 2, 4, 5
Connor McMann - Cases 1, 2, 4
Isaac Tremaine - Cases 2, 4
Tom Pickton - Cases 2, 4, 5
Brad Park - Case 1
Dr. Diane Brightburn - Case 3
Dr. Russel Barnaby - Case 3, take a photo of his picture
Darcey - Cases 2, 4
Paula - Cases 2, 4
Lance Corporal Calder - Case 5
Maria Eleanor Raquel Fontana - Case 4
James Caballero - Case 2
Complete all trials
Trials are divided up between Photography, Combat and Exploration. Follow the guide for the Workin Hard achievement for instructions on how to complete all of them:
Find all Panic Rooms
There are 31 Panic Rooms throughout Willamette, each requiring a key to enter. The locations of the keys can be found by purchasing a map from Locations Vendors in each emergency shelter. Once you have the key, a blue circle will show up somewhere on the map giving you the general area of the Panic Room. To find the entrance, you'll need to use the Spectrum Analyzer mode of the camera to find a handprint. Once tagged, it will allow you to open the secret passage to the panic room. Once you've unlocked the panic room, it will show up as a pink icon on the map.
You can view your progress for most of these in game via the dossier, or from the main menu under Extras>Statistics. Panic rooms do not show up in the dossier, but will be given as a number at the bottom of the statistics screen and on the case completion screen.

hmmmmm which guide?
I don't know if someone deleted his own guide but i don't see any and that would have been really useful
best way to deal with this game.
speedrun story first, get all blueprints and manuals. then restart story do trials and collectible mop upfinish everything except zombie kills. make sure save file is fine, safehouses are ok, check time played and that found blueprints in your menu screen match the story progress window on the title screen. and back up on cloud and USB since you just don't know how messed up your save is till it's too late.
since finishing the game completely the first time I've never been able to case select, it only loads the final cutscene, credits and then title screen, whether you have finished the cases or not previously, you must finish the whole game after all trials are done. so I recommend getting the 250k kills before finishing multiplayer.
you can start multiplayer after finding every blueprint without fear just don't play for hours and hours, boost bosses and missions on day 1 till you've got gold bars and cash comming out your ears and solo day 2 for best mission/boss gain, if you save bosses till after speed demon trial, you can quit out after boss and restart without waiting for safehouse pop.
This solution is provided so that people can have an idea of what is required, as the achievement itself does not describe it. If you feel you can provide a better solution, feel free to provide one.
Due to the Christmas theme, I'm sure Capcom Vancouver were on a strict deadline to release this before the holidays, and in some aspects it definitely shows.

I haven't done anything differently than the solution. Went through the game, collecting stuff as I found it, beat the story, then went through and got everything else. Unless the patch moved people from 97% to 100%, there is nothing I can think of that took me to 100% that the rest of you probably haven't done. I haven't even finished the MP stuff yet.
100k zombies
250k zombies
Buying x amount of items from vendors
Buying x amount of combo weapons
A-Rank Destruction
S-Rank Destruction
War Zone
Lemmings
Everything else is done. I know this is kinda a stretch, but since I know you don't need all of these to get all the blueprints, is it possible that those locker keys that we can't track are in some way connected to this achievement?
I haven't done all of the MP yet, so don't know if that makes a difference since the patch, but on the title screen it says Lv. 100 / 85%. So I'm hoping once I've done all the MP, it might unlock the achievement.
It shows 100% in sp and mp. Only problem is that i see a blueprint on my map in sp that i have collected in mp. I wonder if somebody started a new save and completed the sp at 100% and didn't touch the mp. It's too mch work for me to try that.
So I started a new game with NO MP, all seem s good atm.
However, the most worrying aspect is the TOTAL silence from the developers, what is the matter with them.
Certainly no DLC or CAPCOM games for me if this continues, very, vey poor customer care!!
Shame on you CAPCOM.
I was at 90% and the only thing that could have increased it is assigning unspent skill points in multiplayer. I'm level 88 and hadn't bothered to spend them in ages. So when I was finished playing I noticed it had gone up to 93% I had not done any trials or found any skill books in that session as I had them before this . So has anyone got 100 in both multiplayer and single player?
Like others some of my numbers on the stats from from the main menu/extras are screwed up as my safe houses reset and on the multiplayer one it says I have 9/15 blueprints which is wrong, it should be 12 as I only have 3 weapons left to get from the 3 remaining trials in MP. DO these have to be made? Guess I can test this later.

I'm know others have said it's not tied to multiplayer, but not having played any multiplayer, I do see that I'm at 70% completion when I returned to the DR4 home screen.

Wondering if the achievement is a full comprehensive 100% completion?
It's annoying because I can see a few people on here were able to unlock the achievement but I'm stuck @ 99% because the damn training manuals won't update properly!
On loading the game and going back to the main menu I went from 92% to 99% I was able to buy the manual but it did not get applied to my skills so I'm still at 106/107.
Unsure whether to restart or not just wondering if the increase in completion % was as a result of buying the book or just other stats being fixed
If one of your training manuals has glitched out just spend a skill point in multiplayer and it will unlock straight away.
I'm glad it's finally unlocking for people. I haven't had a chance to play myself since the update came out, and I still have a ways to go for 100% anyway thanks to some bugs, but I will update the guide to let people know it is now obtainable.
For those that have unlocked the achievement, is the information in the guide still correct? Is anything additional needed for 100%?
EDIT: After hours of trying to get it back, as soon as i post this it allows me to re take the shelter finally! Achievement popped straight after
speak up to get this fixed, it dont look like the are addressing it as they are other problems

1. I have 9skill points left but can't buy my last skill until level 100 (unlimited sprint) would that work?
2. Any faster ways to earn pp in MP I just keep loading level 4 hoping randoms join to get the 4000pp for all players returning to safe house

For myself I had 1 gray skill in SP and 1 skill left in MP. upon buying the Skills i got the achievement.
As for Basement cheese above. he had 2 grayed out skills in SP and 1 skill left in MP and the achievement did not unlock for him.
I picked up the panic room key for McKenzie's Auto. I have the blue circle indicating where to use the key. I know where to use the key, but it stays as locked. No amount of case loading or beating the game on a higher difficulty has helped. I cannot pick up the key again.
This is why I cannot get 100% - I am stuck at 99%
I am open for suggestions.
I have 1 greyed out skill and have the book collected. MP only level 70 with lots of skills left to be bought. Should I grind to lvl 100 on mp first and then buy skills ?
Multiplayer Training Manuals Locations
Once you collect the greyed out ones in MP , then buying 1 skill will unlock the achievement. Before I collected the training manuals in MP I unlocked skills and nothing happened. I then collected all training manuals in MP and as soon as I bought 1 skill after that the achievement unlocked. Hope that helps some people. NB - Collect all the training manuals in Multiplayer !!!!! then unlock a skill.
You can collect all MP training manuals even in episode 1 of MP. I sent you a pvt message with the locations. Good Luck. Let us know if it helped in any way.
Anyway, you must have a remaining skill to buy also. Luckily I was at level 100 and had marathon as a skill I could purchase. Once I had collected all the training manuals that were greyed out in multiplayer/single player and I bought that skill....it unlocked! Thank you so much dude, honestly. Didn't wanna have to replay everything again haha
I was going to delete save and collect the blueprints again on easy but i assume i'd need to then do all of the Trials again unless just the blueprints would trigger it?
These my last 2 achievements in main game, and they both bugged. What can i do to unlock them? From comments i tryed to buy a MP skill - and that didnt do anything for me :(
multiplayer blueprints are unlocked by completing the multiplayer trials
From SP i only missing 52/55 blueprints, well actually i am not missing anything, i have all done...
I didn't have any skill greyed out as other comments have mentioned but I went into multiplayer, unlocked a skill, and it popped.
Little salty about it
I would complete a case and get to the results screen, see if it shows anything different. Obviously I haven't gotten the achievement yet, I just posted this guide based on what was found in game.
- Level 91 - missing 3 more skills to complete the set (last one unlocks at level 100).
- Kill 100,000 Zombies
- Kill 250,000 Zombies
- Kill 10 Evolved Enemies with the Fish Launcher (what a b*tch)
- Get an S-Rank Destruction Photo
- Get an A-Rank Destruction Photo
All other locations, trials, collectables & photos have been completed/discovered.
Safe rooms all at level 5.
Multiplayer trials are currently 35/57 at level 61 - I don't think they have an effect but will keep everyone posted. Hopefully the latest patch has fixed a few things and fingers crossed those that were at 97%+ aren't glitched or stuck there.
I'm not as close as the rest of you. Just a thought though.

I should unlock it when I boot up the game later today.
My "Innovator" achievement is currently the only achievement I can't seem to get even though I have all blueprints, statistics page in SP pause menu says 54/55 but the statistics in MP pause menu says 55/55. Definitely a disaprity issue with picking up blueprints in multiplayer.
http://www.capcom-unity.com/dead_rising/go/thread/view/7491/...
- Workin' Hard (Complete all trials)
- Master Journalist (Get a Journalism Score of 100%)
But still not the INNOVATOR (aquire all blueprints). So this is the proof that the Innovator is still bugged glitched FU****! You can't get 100% witout getting all blueprints but my game I still have 54/55 since the last one is still shown on the map but can't be picked since it's not there when you get there (mentioned this plenty times now)!
I honestly have no clue how that makes any sense, since MP and SP are two different things, but that's my workaround. Credit goes to all the people that commented the solution above. However Capcom really need to fix this crap.

This description is misleading – basically it means you have to 100% the single player part of the game. Meaning, you need to complete all single player trials (which includes killing 250,000 zombies), and unlock all skills. The latter requires finding all the single player training manuals, and getting to level 100.
Single player training manuals can be found at:
- Mall
- Evasion – In Homerunners, on the 2nd floor of the hallway between Caribbean Cove & Kiichiro Plaza
- Skill Move Efficiency – In the safe house, available to buy once it reaches level 3.
- Old Town
- Final Blow – In Tetro’s Comics & Collectibles
- Precision Targeting – In the safe house, available to buy once it reaches level 3.
- West Ridge
- Food +2 – In the safe house, available to buy once it reaches level 4.
- Inventory Slots+ - In the safe house, on the 2nd floor
- North Peak
- Elemental Critical Hits – In Freebirds Gun Shack & Shooting Range
- Inspiring Presence – In the safe house, available to buy once it reaches level 4
