Just collect newspapers, you can get location of these items from location vendors in cleared safe houses. Costs some scrap but map upgrades are the only thing really worth buing so don't hesitate.
Most of the mysteries have several pieces of news you need to collect, but there is at least one with only one piece of newspaper needed to unlock this achievement fairly early in the game when you first get outside the mall.

So the single newspaper mystery is when you are given the main mission to infiltrate the junkyard. You will speak to the podcast lady before entering the junkyard and then fighting a bunch of obscuris enemies. In the middle to the far-right of the area, if you jump on a dumpster to get up higher you can run through a shipping container to find this newspaper.
