How to unlock the Splurged achievement in Dead Rising 4 - Definitive Guide

A buddy of mine shared his method with me on how to get this fast and it works very well! Play single player on the first course "Santa's village". Use an electricity ball (best for kills) zombie kills seem to drastically increase your coin amount. Make sure you get as many perfect shots as possible to trigger the electricity power up.

I am now averaging 20k per course. You can make up to 30k + doing this. This has to be the best method for the Splurged achievement. Good luck!

The objects are things like a stack of tires or those big cones - I'm pretty sure on the first course (Santa's Fairway) its hole #2 where you can destroy a cone on one island (it has 2 exploding barrels & zombies) and a set of tires sitting on the last island with the hole.

Just purchased everything and no achievement could be just the xbox one. Has anyone else had this problem? I received an updated last night may have something to do with it.

The trick to this is to make all your shots half power. The line moves much slower so it's easier to get the perfect shot.

If the spot you need to hit is 20 yards, aim for 40 and only go to half power, whenever possible.

As mentioned in the above comments, this should unlock when you have one item left. I think it happens because you can buy the first golf ball for free after you change it for the first time. The most expensive item is the Gold Exo Suit worth 100k so leave that til last.

In case it didn't unlock when you only got the Golden Suit left - go back to the main-menu, open the DLC and create another lobby. Worked for me. Was pretty salty I had to get another 100k.

In order to obtain this achievement you must purchase all of the items from the store (under character customization). In total you need $1,367,000. From challenges alone you can get $910,000.

Helmets- $401,000
Balls- $466,000
Exo suit colors- $500,000

The best way that I found to acquire the necessary funds for this achievement was completing trials. Some notable trials are:

Willamette Pro Tour- score par or better on 20 courses=
$125,000
Pitch and Putt Precision- score 20 hole-in-one's= $175,000
Shanking Through Shortcuts- score 20 birdies (complete the hole one stroke under par)= $110,000
Go to your Home- score 20 pars= $110,000
I Got This... Oops, Maybe Not- Score a bogey (hit one stroke over par)= $10,000

I found Pirates refuge to be the best course for this achievement. On this map you can get 2 hole-in-one's and 2 birdies/pars.

On the first hole aim for the middle tube and slightly lower your shot to 44 yards (still right under the middle tube). You should get a hole-in-one.

On the fourth hole look to your right and you will see a tube. Aim inside the tube and begin shooting when the tube's hatch just completely closes. By the time the golf ball approaches the tube it should be open. You should get a hole-in-one.

For the pirates refuge course you need to get a maximum of 13 strokes for par on the course.

You will also get $35,000 for purchasing 10 helmets, $35,000 for purchasing 10 golf balls, and $35,000 for purchasing 10 exo suits for a total of $105,000. You will also get $25,000 for killing 200 zombies and $30,000 for destroying 20 obstacles (tires and explosive barrels) for a total of $55,000.

Winning matches online (preferably boosting as few people play this game mode) will net you $100,000.

Right there, just in challenges you should get $790,000.

Remember that for the hole-in-one shots you must hit your swing in the green part of the shot bar.

As well, if you equip a golf ball, I used the electricity golf ball, and hit the sweet spot of the shot bar you will get a perfect shot and gain additional cash for any zombies killed (can net you $5,000 for the first hole for the pirates refuge course with the hole-in-one method). Hitting explosive barrels will also gain you additional cash for zombies killed.

This is the most time-consuming achievement from the DLC, as everything costs a total of 1,902,000. The breakdown is as follows:

  • 535,000 for clubs
  • 466,000 for balls
  • 500,000 for exo suits
  • 401,000 for helmets

Even when you finish the trials, you will be several hundred thousand short of the amount you need. Thus, grinding is required. Once the trials are done, note that you will actually earn far more money going for coins/kills than you will for actually trying to get the ball in the hole.
