There is a super quick way to get this.
In the Food court there is a pyramid of wine barrels near the Al Fresca Plaza exit.
Each of these barrels explodes/breaks after a single hit on a zombie with the X button. Do not throw the barrels, that will not count. You have to be holding the barrel when it breaks.
Keep using these until you get the achievement. If you run out of the barrels, just exit food court and come back in and they will respawn.

To clarify on this, you do have to hit an enemy with the barrel - you cannot just throw it (like I tried very unsuccessfully). This counts as one for each item that breaks while you are holding it.

This can be done with the gems in Marriage Makers in Paradise Plaza, just keep spamming fire at the wall & this will pop.
