How to unlock the Zombie Annihilator achievement in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster - Definitive Guide

non-tunnel way of doing this that has a faster kill rate (1,000 kills every 3 minutes.):

-rescue 50 Survivors and complete the game to unlock the Infinite Ammo/Durability Magazine in the Security Room.
-play through Overtime Mode, making sure to acquire a Rocket Launcher from one of the special forces soldiers.
-Once you reach the Point of No Return of Overtime Mode where you enter the caves with Isabela, simply go back and forth between two areas unloading your Infinite Rocket Launcher at zombies to rack up kills. The timer will stop at this point so you won’t be pressured for time at all, and once you are done you can quickly defeat the last boss to unlock the mega buster

For me this was the best method, already had infinite ammo. Just going back and forth between the first and second room underground, was safer and easier to manage, no car durability to manage.

Great help this, felt faster than the car method from 360 and One/PS4 version.

Take the red car and enter the underground tunnels, turn left and head into parking lot A.
You can drive over the piles of zombies that are at the end of parking lot A.
Once you’ve cleared out majority of the zombies, drive back to the 30 Speed Limit sign. From there, the big zombie pile will respawn at the end of the same parking lot. Simply turn around and run them over again.
Do this until your car breaks down then switch over to the truck that’s there until it breaks down as well (it has A LOT more durability but less control and acceleration than the red car). Continue farming until you’ve met the requirements for the achievement.
I recommend stacking up on skateboards so you can go back out and get another red car efficiently.

Thankfully, zombie kills now track across playthroughs, so there isn't a great need to grind this in one go like the original. The respawn trick here with parking lot A is about the quickest way to grind kills.

Made a Video showcasing a ALT solution.

NOTE! kills now carry over between playthroughs as long as your using the same save file.

REQUIRED: you must have beat the game once SAVING 50 SURVIVORS to unlock the unlimited durability magazine. the magazine will be in the safehouse near where the lightsaber spawns on the other side of the room with the vent.

next, you must finish the main story all the way thru overtime mode. isabella requires only 5 queens in DRDR instead of 10. before going to the end of the game under the clock tower, find a special force guy with a rocket launcher (new to DRDR)

take you unlimited rocket launcher with you and isabella and go under the clock tower. this is where the video starts.

in this area, there is no longer a time limit. i would avoid going to far down the second tunnel and triggering the cutscene as idk if that blocks you going back to the first area or not.

you could combine this method with the old method of using a car in the maintenance tunnels just to mix up gameplay some. kills now carry over between playthroughs as long as your using the same save file.
edit: i personally just did this method to unlock the achievement. there are so many less zombies in the maintenance tunnel that it seemed like a hassle. your not timed using this method, i just put on some youtube videos and was done in a few hours.

There is an easier but tedious way of getting this. Isn't this Achievement tedious any way we look at it?

  • When you get to the tunnels, go to the van in the upper-left corner of the map.
  • Get in and drive down the ramp and come back up again so that you are close to the meat packing room.
There are four reasons of doing it this way:

1. There is an autosave function so you can go back and forth between the tunnels and the meat packing room and autosave so if you need to take a break from boredom, need to sleep or eat, you can autosave your progress and continue later.

2. There are 3 milk cartons in the meat packing room so if you run low on health, grab those and replenish it.

3. The truck is close by so you do not have to worry about having to walk a long time to get back to the meat packing room.

4. The clusters of zombies in this one area replenish instantly so there is never not enough zombies to run down with the truck.

For this start a another playthrough on your level 50 or save you've already beaten the game with and head directly for Leisure Park and then to the parking area. Take the red car and head into the maintenance tunnel. Here's a video I made on how to do the strategy and keep the blaster for other playthroughs.

The best way that I have found to farm kills in this remaster is slightly different from the original genocider achievement. After some testing, I found that I could get about 2500-3000 kills every 10 minutes using this method.

Attached below is an image showing the pathway taken during the method.

It starts the same way in the maintenance tunnels, take the red car down there, feel free to run over the crowd in front of the entrance, drive straight to the white car, take that car to the white truck, and begin farming. The strategy here is to run most of the zombies in front of the white truck, then drive back down the ramp (roughly 3/4 the way down), turn around and all the zombies will have respawned. Repeat this process until the car begins to smoke, then switch it out for the white truck and keep repeating this process. An example of this loop is shown below:

Once the white truck begins smoking, head towards the exit, exit the tunnels, and switch it out for the red car and repeat the cycle. On average one full loop took me about 11 minutes, and I'd have gained roughly 2500-3000 kills during that cycle.

Due to autosave being a feature, this achievement becomes easier than the previous, simply due to the fact you no longer need to save just to be safe mid method. Kills also now track between playthroughs, making this even easier to grind for. I hope this guide helps, happy hunting :)

The method of obtaining is similar to the original DR1, but much easier, at least because the progress on killing zombies is now carried over between playthroughs.
First of all, you need to go to the parking lot and take a car there. Then, you go to the underground tunnels and take the key in the underground warehouse. Then you must go to the entrance to the meat shop on the left at the top of the map and start crushing all the zombies there with your car. The principle is that you kill everyone at the entrance to the shop, and then go back to the tunnel to the first turn, and then go back to the shop. All the zombies will appear again if you just drive a little further. If the car breaks down, go into the meat shop and go back out, there will be a new whole car in front of you on which you can repeat the process as much as you like.

The whole car in the tip above refers to one of the trucks near the meat processing plant - you can only get into the left one.
The game also autosaves each time you enter/exit the workshop. In general, you can get the achievement in 4-5 hours this way.
