Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

This is a guide for rescuing 50 survivors with the True Ending that leads into Overtime mode. This is based off starting at level 1. If you're just starting your first run, definitely recommend going for all survivors. Will save you another playthrough.

After the escaping from the Zombies at the beginning, you will need to go inside the air vent. Once on the roof you will find the survivors Jeff and Natalie. Talk to Jeff and then Natalie and return them back to the safe house.

Next I did the main story missions up until Case 1-3: An Odd Old Man where we talk to Dr Barnaby in the Entrance Plaza. After this I rescued Bill Brenton who can be found in the shop called In The Closet in the Entrance Plaza. I got there about 13:00 in the afternoon. This is an unmarked quest meaning you wont get a phone call about this one.

Whilst talking with Bill, Otis will call you about another mission called: Cut From The Same Cloth. This mission is important that you complete it for now as there’s a survivor tied to it on Day 3. When I completed this mission, it was 15:30. I then took Bill, back to the safe house. After this I did the mission called Case 1-4: A Temporary Agreement.

I then made my way back to Paradise Plaza and it was 16:00. At 16:00 you’ll get a phone call from Otis talking about the mission Barricade Pair A and B that takes place in Alfresca Plaza. Whilst rescuing them you’ll need to melee Burt a few times for the two of them to follow you.

I then went back into the Entrance Plaza and waited until 5pm for the mission A Mother’s Lambent to appear. Return to Alfresca Plaza and rescue the survivor Leigh Stein. Escort the 3 survivors back to the safe house. By this point the unmarked mission Prisoners will have spawned in Leisure Park at 18:00. Rescue Sophie from Convicts and bring her back to the safehouse.

By this point it was 19:20, I killed the Convicts, grabbed the machine gun from their truck and waited in the food court until 21:00.

At 21:00 the mission called Out of Control will spawn, take a picture of Adam and kill Adam the Psychopath, I then picked up the Small Chainsaw. Interact with the console to stop the machine, this will reveal the survivor Greg Simpson. Follow Greg to unlock the secret shortcut that links the Paradise Plaza to the Wonderland Plaza. By this point it was 21:30. Wait inside Paradise Plaza with Greg until 22:00.

At 22:00 Otis will call you about the mission Japanese Tourists. Go into the shop where the survivors are in Wonderland Plaza, pickup the conversation book that’s behind the counter on the right side inside the shop to talk to them. Escort the 3 survivors you’ll have with you back to the safe house. You can drop the conversation book after this.

After this go back into the Warehouse and you’ll get a phone call from Otis about the Shadow of the North Plaza, rescue David Bailey from there and escort back to safehouse. By this point it was 00:30 at night I made sure I grabbed the Entertainment, Engineering and Criminal Biology books, this will make the Small Chainsaw last 3x as long, it will basically last you the whole game. I also defeated Cletus the Psychopath that spawns in the gun shop in the North Plaza to grab a sniper rifle and a shotgun. I then went back to the security room and sped up time to 06:00.

I then completed Case 2-2 Rescue The Professor where we defeat Sniper Carlito, I then started the mission Case 2-3 Medicine Run. I defeated the psychopath Steve who’s inside Seon’s Food & Stuff. By this point it will be about 07:00 in the morning. You will get a phone call from Otis about the mission Lovers. Make sure to not give Ross a firearm. Bring the two survivors from the Lovers mission back to the safe house and give Brad the medicine. By this point it was about 08:00. Go back into Paradise Plaza, you will get a phone call from Otis talking about the Hatchet man mission.

Defeat Cliff the psychopath. Rescue the 3 survivors that Cliff has captured from the small room that’s to the left of the entrance of Crislip’s Home Saloon. By this point it will be about 09:00 and two missions will have spawned that are called The Coward and Twin Sisters. Rescue Gordon from The Coward mission that takes place in Alfresca Plaza. You’ll need to throw a box at Gordon to get him to follow you.

Next go back to Paradise Plaza for the mission Twin Sisters. Rescue Heather and Pamela from there and you’ll have 6 survivors following you. Escort them all back to the safehouse. By this point it will be about 10:30 in the morning.

After this I started Case 3-1 Professors Past at 11:00. I then rescued Ronald from The Restaurant Man mission that appears in the Paradise Plaza. When Ronald easts some food, take a picture when the PP icon appears to get an Outtake picture as you’ll need it for the Photo Challenge mission for Kent at 12:00. Escort Ronald back to Safehouse. You can also lock the photo so it doesn’t get deleted automatically allowing you to reuse it on future runs. Make your way back to Paradise Plaza and wait inside the Colombian Roastmasters until 12:00 for Kent spawn. Give Kent the photo you took of Ronald that has an Outtake.

By this point it will be 12:00 the mission Above the Law will have spawned inside the Wonderland Plaza. Kill Jill the Psychopath and rescue Kay, Lily, Kelly and Janet. Wait in the Wonderland Plaza shortcut until 13:00 for the mission The Cult to appear, kill all the disciples and rescue Jennifer. Escort the 5 survivors back to the safehouse.

I then sped up time and did the mission Case 4-1: Another Source. After that I went back to the Wonderland Plaza, go to the south side and you’ll see Sally and Nick grabbing onto the giant rabbit on the left side. Clear the zombies out beneath them. Throw an object at them to get them to drop down. Talk to them both and escort them back to the safehouse. This is an unmarked quest so you won’t get a phone call about this one. By this point it will be about 16:00 in the afternoon.

I then completed Case 4-2: Girl Hunting. This is where we take down Isabella who is on the motorbike. After this it was about 16:30 in the evening. I then waited in Paradise Plaza until 17:00. At 17:00 Otis will call you about the following 3 missions, Mark of The Sniper, Women Who Didn’t Make It and Antique Lover. Kill the 3 Sniper psychopaths inside the Entrance Plaza and rescue Wayne from the Mark of The Sniper mission.

Now rescue Floyd from the Antique Lover mission. Next rescue the two survivors from The Woman Who Didn’t Make It mission. To find Rachel you need to bring Jolie to the shop called For Her which is on the 2nd floor. After all of this, escort the 4 survivors back to the safehouse. By this point it will be about 18:30.
After this return to Paradise Plaza and Otis will call you for the mission Ronald Appetite. Go into the Colombian Roastmasters and pickup a pie for Ronald. Give the pie to Ronald who’s in the Safehouse. If you don’t do this all of the survivors you’ve rescued up to this point will leave the safehouse.

Next make sure you take a picture of the vent that goes into the Safehouse as you’ll need it for the survivors that are hold up in the gun shop for later. I then sped up time to 22:30 and waited outside the North Plaza for the next mission Case 5-1: A Promise to Isabella.

At 00:00 go inside the North Plaza and Kindell will spawn in front of the room where you need to meet Isabella, talk to Kindell to join you. Escort Kindell and Isabella back to the safehouse. After this I defeated Sean the Psychopath for the mission A Strange Group. Rescue Ray, Nathan, Michelle, Beth and Cheryl from where you fought Sean. Cheryl will be in the closest with the cult eye on it. On the way back you’ll get a phone call from Otis talking about Floyd who needs some wine. You can get some wine in the food court. I then sped up the time to 03:00 to start the next case mission which is Case 6-1: Santa Cabeza.

Next I made my way back to the North Plaza and went to the gun shop, there are 3 survivors here who are called: Brett, Johnathan and Alyssa. Before going here make sure to have a picture of the vent that goes into the safehouse. If you don’t have the picture of the vent they won’t follow you.

Next I went to the food court to rescue another unmarked survivor called Gil. Whilst here I grabbed the wine that Floyd needs. Initially Gil won’t follow you, talk to him few times until no more dialog options appear, walk away and Gil will call Frank back, Gil will then follow Frank.

After this at 05:00 I did the mission called Long Haired Punk in the Wonderland Plaza, make sure to save Paul Carson with a Fire Extinguisher to get him to follow you. If you don’t manage to, you can revert checkpoint, talk to the 2 new survivors called Mindy and Debbie that are in the closet. Next bring all 7 survivors back to the safehouse.

By this point it was 06:00 in the morning, I went and got some Wine from the food court for Floyd. I waited inside the Paradise Plaza shortcut until 08:00. At 08:00 go into the Wonderland Plaza, here you will find the survivor called Susan who will be standing on top of the giant football in the middle of the room. Talk to her to get her to follow you. Next rescue the survivor called Leroy from the mission A Sick Man inside the Wonderland Plaza. Bring the two survivors back to the safehouse.

Next I grabbed some food and extra weapons and waited until 11:00 and did the mission called Case 7-1: The Last Resort. Make sure you get to Paradise Plaza between 12:00-12:05 for the mission Photographer’s Pride otherwise Tad the survivor will not be rescuable. I recommend saving the game just before this section. After defeating Kent rescue Tad. After this complete the mission called A Woman In Despair to rescue Simone who will be inside Paradise Plaza . After this bring Tad and Simone back to the safehouse.

Next you’ll want to speak to Kindell in the Security Room for the mission Kindell’s Betrayal, if you don’t do this all the survivors will leave. Next I did the mission called Case 7-2: Bomb Collector where we need to collect the bombs from the trucks and take down Truck Carlito. After completing this mission the next mission I did is called Case 8-1: Jamming Device. This starts at 17:00 and takes place in the Safehouse.

Next I sped my time up to 17:00. Whilst making your way to the hideout Otis will call you about Paul saying that he has a gift for Frank. Make your way to Carlito's hideout with Isabella for the mission Case 8-2: Hideout. Next I completed the mission Case 8-3 Jessies Discovery, whilst at the Safehouse I did the mission Paul’s Present too.

By this point it was 18:30 in the evening. Whilst making your way to the mission Case 8-4 The Butcher. Otis will call you for another survivor mission that’s called Simone the Gunslinger, you need to bring her a handgun.

After defeating Larry the Psychopath, you will get a call from Otis talking about Cheryl’s Request that takes place in the safehouse. By this point it was 20:00. I grabbed a handgun and some other weapons from the gun store that’s nearby and went back to the safe house to do the optional side missions for Simone and Cheryl. Whilst here be sure to photograph 30 survivors for an achievement, there can be multiple survivors in one photo.

After this it was about 21:10 and I made my way back to Carlito’s hideout. I sped up time in Carlito’s hideout for 22:00.

At 22:00 inside Carlito’s hideout the next cutscene will play. After this make your way back to the safehouse for the mission called Time To Escape. After this I sped up time until 11:45 as the Helicopter arrives at 12:00. Wait on the roof until 12:00. By this point you will have rescued 49 survivors. Complete Overtime mode by defeating Brock and you will rescue the last survivor Isabella putting you at 50 survivors in total whilst getting the true ending.

The Saint achievement will unlock after seeing the end credits. Hope this helped, thanks again.

After you’ve secured Simone from the A Woman In Despair scoop, you can return to the Security Room and fast forward until the helicopter arrives. This will be your last survivor that you rescue.

Head for Paradise Plaza. Turn left and go to Entrance Plaza.Head for Wonderland Plaza.

Get Leroy from the Cosmetics Shop at the south end.

Get Susan off the Soccer Ball in the south play area.

(26) Get Simone from the CD Shop. Barnaby MUST be dead for her to come with you.

[OTIS 38]->7pm, Simone's Gun call.

[OTIS 39]->8pm, Cheryl's Request call.

Return to security room.

Talk to Paul.

Give Simone the handgun.

Take pictures of cheryl.

[SURVIVOR 49]--->Brad counts as a survivor before 7-1.

[SURVIVOR 50]--->Jessie counts as a survivor before 7-1.

[SURVIVOR 51]--->Otis counts as a survivor in at least Ending A and B.

[SURVIVOR 52]--->Ed can count as a Survivor. Ending B only.

[SURVIVOR 53][CRITICAL 7]--->Isabela can count as a Survivor.

Then return to the helipad.

This achievement is a long and tedious one and requires some time sensitive things in order to fully complete. You can do this with two different endings but I suggest going for the true ending after overtime mode. Here's a video I made on how to get the achievement.
