How to unlock the Zombie Hunter achievement in DEAD RISING - Definitive Guide
Odds are at this point that most people that are going to play this game have already done so, but if you’re new to the game and want to quickly get the Zombie Hunter achievement this will be a fast-ish way to do it. There are faster ways, for example if you want to venture a bit further and get a vehicle and knock down zombies that might be faster. What is good about my method is that it combines fast kills with a location that has a save point nearby and a supply of food so you don’t need to worry about losing progress as long as you keep an eye on your health and save accordingly. Ok so here’s what we do.
From the start of the game once we’ve met Otis and gone into the mall we will find ourselves in Paradise Plaza from there exit to leisure park and follow it right to the end until you come to the entrance for food court. As you enter the food court you will get a cutscene and as soon as it ends you will be getting fired at by Carlito who is on the top level. Take him on if you want but I didn’t. From the entrance go left up the little steps or jump over the wall but follow it until you come To a bar with wine bottles littered on the floor pick a few of these up just leave yourself a couple of spare weapon slots, these will fill your health when you need to and the more you take the less often you’ll come back. Pass the bar and then jump the wall on the other side. (If you want to you can just walk round but this takes longer and if Carlito is shooting at you this will give you more chance of being shot) Go left and exit through the doors. You are now in Al Fresca Plaza. The store on your left is Mchandys Hardware, which has 5 chainsaws on the floor at the very front of the store. These chainsaws will respawn every time you exit to food court area and then return, they will also respawn if you die but try to avoid that unless you have just saved and have health replenishment supplies handy. Now, the building directly opposite the hardware store is a gym called Flexin’ which has a save point inside at the far right.
So the method is probably self explanatory, but from this point grab a chainsaw from the hardware store and go crazy, each chainsaw will give you roughly 20 Kills and as I mentioned already there are 5 chainsaws there so you’re going to get 100 kills before you run out of chainsaws. Get your 100 kills, save and then exit to food court and come back in, get food or wine from food court if your health has depleted but if you don’t need to come straight back. This took me about 20 mins but I already had 200 kills by this point.
I wouldn’t recommend this method for the 10,000 Zombie Kills or the 53,594 Zombie Kills achievements unless you have a lot of time on your hands but for the 1000 Kills I believe this to be a good method.

Maybe you should add that it has to be done in one life. The in-game zombie counter, and for the achievement, resets upon death.
Also, add if we should wait until later after we have explored and leveled up a lot. Level 1? 10? 50? Approximately what level do you recommend?

You won’t have any trouble getting this if you are playing the game from beginning to end…
