How to unlock the Outdoorsman achievement in Dead Rising - Definitive Guide
Once you get off the helicopter in the beginning of a new game you can just sit there for 2 hours to unlock this achievement, just keep your game from pausing.
Note: The Xbox 360 version glitch does not seem to work as I attempted it, if anyone does figure out a way to make it work comment or PM me so I can update this guide but I did as follows:

So to confirm, at the start of the game, our character can just sit on the roof and stare at Carlito?
What time will the in-game watch say when 24 hours is up?
Those are some questions to answer to help make the guide more extensive.

Al Fresca plaza can be done for this

This achievement is somewhat vague so let me clarify that it needs to be both 24 hours spent CONSECUTIVELY-either Outdoors in either the Leisure Park, on top of the Helipad above the Security Office, Al Fresca Plaza. I am currently testing whether or not you can do this in Infinity Mode for the sake of minimizing story playthroughs...
For those with the free time, a new story run and staying on the Helipad at the start is definitely an option just not an efficient one.

Cool, I was planning on checking this too.

This is an annoying trophy as it requires you to not leave outdoors or the timer resets. So you have to spend 24 in-game hours outside. 24 in-game hours is 2 real life hours.
The easiest place to do this is the helipad at the start of the game. There are no zombies, so you can just leave it running and it will unlock.
You could do it out in the grassy central area. Go crazy killing zombies for 2 straight hours, but you would have to make sure you survive or you will lose all progress.
I did it after getting the zombie genocider trophy, as I had to kill time waiting on the helicopter, at the helipad whilst eating and watching stuff on youtube. Silly silly trophy

+1 and I thought those trophies are cumulative. Thanks!

Start a game and stay on the roof. Stay put for 2 hours REAL time (24 hour in game time) to get this achievement. A good thing to do here is to scotch tape your control stick forward having Frank run in a corner to help with your "Marathon Man" achievement.

Important: the trophy is not cumulative. To receive it, you need to stay in open space for 24 hours (2 hours of real time) without leaving the location. A helipad or a park where you can climb onto the veranda roof is suitable, just start a new game and ignore the storyline.
