How to unlock the Frozen in Time achievement in Dead Space 2 - Definitive Guide

Very easy.
You should get this by the time you finish your first playthrough.
Everytime you come across an enemy just press Y to use stasis and it will freeze him. Then kill him as you wish. Repeat 50 times and the achievement is yours

Use to aim and to apply stasis to the necromorphs. Once they are slowed, kill them by shooting off limbs or use kinesis to launch an object at them. Killing them by launching an object with kinesis will count toward this and the "Think Fast" achievement.

You can either use your personal Stasis Module (press ) or grab Stasis Cylinders and fire at enemies to freeze them temporarily. While enemies are in this state, dismember and kill them for a total of 50 times to unlock this. You can track your progress by pressing and checking the "Trophies" option.

In theory, it works from the first playthrough, just freeze enemies and kill them as the game progresses.
