How to unlock the Lawnmower Man achievement in Dead Space 2 - Definitive Guide

Believe it or not, you can get this by meleeing (RT) with the ripper equipped. You don't need to shoot at all. I recommend doing this against weak enemies, like the little kids with claws who run at you.

It pops immediately after your fourth kill.

This can easily be done soon as you can acquire the ripper. I'd suggest doing it when you get to the school/daycare part of the game. because you'll enter a gym and if you go through the "simple" maze it'll put the tables down and will make 20-30 enemies spawn. Most of this Norphs will get killed with 1 touch of the blade allowing you too kill 4 easily and more. You can also get this when you have 4 or more enemies bunched together. Put them in slow motion and use your ripper which will kill all 4 on contact.

i was going to suggest the same area, basically any area with the pack (the little kids) is a good area to get this achievement

During chapter 5 in the temple, after a mini boss fight, there will be a swarm of the child-like necromorphs coming to attack you. Simply place your back against the wall and use the primary fire on your ripper. I got this on Zealot without upgrading the gun at all.

That's the exact place I got it and probably the easiest way to get it from when you get the schematic for the ripper since it is also in chapter 5.

Yeah, I really feel that this is by far the easiest place to farm achievements. I got all of the linegun, ripper, and javelin gun achievements in this spot. Just kept reloading and hitting the store to change weapons.

Adding on to what Kronic said, you bring enough because if you get damaged while blade is out, it will stop. So bring like 2 packs of blades to an area its flooded with enemies and while atempting to get this achievement, dont let any one get behind you and hurt you or else you'll have to start all over.

Another possible place where you can get this achievement:
At the end of chapter 7, when the hub blows up the first enemies will be kids. I got the achievement there easily on Zealot difficulty without upgrading the weapon at all. Same method as IPooIPdog WoILf's one, just in another chapter, in case you missed this earlier.

I recommend using the Ripper's primary attack , which will extend a saw blade that hovers infront of you, on a group of weak enemies (preferably the The Pack) and quickly saw off their limbs with 1 Ripper Blade to unlock this.

The schematic for the Ripper can be found in Chapter 5 behind the rotating orb that you must use stasis on to pull down the arms in order to shut it off and intiate Zero-G. Proceed to the next store and buy and equip it. Make sure not to replace the Line Gun as one of your weapons as you will shortly encounter a Lurker for Clean Cut. Once you make it into the main hall of the Church, after encountering two Lurkers, you will be attacked by a giant necromorph that tries stabbing you with a spike extending from it's mouth. After it climbs away, you will get attacked by a group of the Pack. Use the primary fire on them and continue holding down aim until the achievement pops.

The easiest way is to launch a managed disk into a pack heap (flocks of necromorphs of schoolchildren). The assholes die quite quickly, so you will get the trophy very easily

The most convenient locations for obtaining this trophy are the beginning of Chapter 2 (after a small room with a store and a workbench) and the end of Chapter 5 (after the attack of the tripod in the Church of Unitology). The fact is that in both locations there are child necromorphs who have a very small amount of health and always attack in large numbers.

Everything is the same, just don’t waste kinesis, just run back to the end of the wall and the children will run up to you in a heap. The main thing is to change the disk in time. Get the trophy there too. With a flight of 17 meters.
