How to unlock the RIG Master achievement in Dead Space 3 - Definitive Guide
i changed my suit to the N7 suit in chapter 4 (first suit kiosk i stopped at)(you can change suits and upgrade suits here). i started with the EVR SUIT, and had a code for the WITNESS and FIRST CONTACT SUITS. the N7 SUIT was given to me at the beginning because i played MASS EFFECT 3. by putting the N7 suit on, it opened all inventory slots. when i changed back to any of the other suits it granted them the same upgrade.
to get the achievement you must upgrade all 29 slots.
12 in RIG:
4 HITPOINT slots that grant you 25pts for each upgrade
3 AIR slots that grant you 60seconds each
5 ARMOR slots that grant you 5% for each slot upgrade
8 in STASIS:
2 ENERGY slots
4 DURATION slots
2 RECHARGE slots
9 in KINESIS:
5 DAMAGE slots that grant 20% each
4 RANGE slots
i noticed all 4 suits did not give anything extra in any field other than they are different colors.
i totaled up the EVR and N7 suits only since they both needed the same amount.
scrap metal=7050
somatic gel=1875
tungsten=590
semiconductor=3105
transducer=3200
just like at a workbench for weapons you can also upgrade your suits by using your MS pts. 3 packages @ 80, 160, 240 MS pts.
the 240MS pts only gives 200 transducer making it the hardest/longest to upgrading your rig.
it would take about $48 US dollars to upgrade your rig to get the achievement. i'm using bots or shooting yellow framed windows in space to collect everything which takes longer or you can have it instantly with MS points, its your choice.

I take no credit for the farming glitch below just wanted to share it. It says Ch. 8 but I missed it and was able to go back during Ch. 9 as the side quest will take you to the room. You can literally stand outside the door, open it, back up, let it close and then open it again. I did it about 20 times and then would enter the room, rinse and repeat.
After 40 mins I had the following:
Tungsten: 423
Semiconductor: 1,311
Scrap Metal: 5,071
Somatic Gel: 1,694
Transoucer: 872
I had just upgraded my suit right before doing this so I was able to farm quite a bit of resources.

Ok so I have taken all of the numbers off of the screen and summed them up nice and neat here.
To fully upgrade your RIG, you must max these out
RIG: Hit Points, Air, and Armor
STASIS: Energy, Durability, and Recharge
KINESIS: Damage and Range
On the screen, it tells you what you need for each upgrade, but overall, you need: 2750 Scrap metal, 750 Somatic Gel, 970 Transducer, 390 Tungsten, and 4545 Semiconductor.
This may seem like a lot of resources to get this, but if you utilize your little bot buddies as much as possible, you will net this in no time. Or, if you feel like taking part in EA's money grab, you can pay to get the resources instantly. Up to you. Happy hunting!
Another method you can use which is a lot faster is the spawning materials exploit. When you hit a checkpoint, check your surroundings to see if there are a lot of material spawns nearby. This can be lockers, crates, loose materials, etc. SImply grab up all of the goodies, and save and quit. When you restart your checkpoint, you will still have everything you picked up, and there will be fresh spawns all around you. Rinse and repeat

Would you mind if I put that in the solution?

I would like to add to the following guides. That if you haven't upgraded your Rig fully by the time that you finished the game you can use any ration tickets you have obtained to buy resource packs at the work bench.
Whilst you have been progressing through the game you might have noticed that when the scavenger bot returns to the work bench he sometimes brings back some ration tickets. If you still need to upgrade a few slots on the rig after the game go back to any chapter after when you first get the scavenger bot and go to a work bench.
whilst at the work bench press Y to access Downloadable content and you will see a list of resource packs. under where the cost of MS points for each pack will also be a cost for ration seals. In the bottom left corner will be the total of ration seals you have at that time.
Here re the listings for each one:
10 ration seals:
Resource pack: 60 tungsten, 200 semiconductors, 500 scrap metal, 100 somatic gel, 50 transducers.
30 ration seals:
Ultra weapon and resource pack: 120 tungsten, 400 semiconductors, 1000 scrap metal, 200 somatic gel, 100 transducers.
60 ration seals:
Epic weapon and resource pack: 240 tungsten, 800 semiconductors, 2000 scrap metal,
400 somatic gel, 200 transducers.
I would recommend buying as many Epic weapon resource and resource packs as you can with what you got. As transducers will most likely be the last resource you need to upgrade your rig and is hard to come by. Press the X button to purchase any packs that you desire and this will take your ration seals away. Then find the nearest rig station (I used the one on chapter 14 as a work bench is right next to it) and upgrade all slots you can.
These packs also come with some weapon parts as well but they are not important at this time. If you still need some transducers put the scavenger bot down in some high resource areas and he will bring back some more ration tickets over time. If you follow this guide you should be pretty close to upgrading your Rig fully for the achievement.

You will need to fully upgrade your RIG at the Suit Kiosk in every category (RIG, Stasis and Telekinesis.) These will require a significant number of resources, especially Tungsten and Semiconductors. You can either attempt this on Casual which gives a lot of resources, use the Infinite Resources glitch, or purchase the resources through microtransactions.

RIG (ICS) - Your suit. In total there are 3 main points that you can upgrade, as well as a total of 8 Categories. You can level up your RIG when you find the game's "Station".
The first point is Suit: Amount of Health , Armor and Air . (Hit Points, Air, and Armor)
The second point is Stasis: Energy , Duration and Cooldown . (Energy, Durability, and Recharge)
Third point - Kinesis: Damage and Range
To completely update the RIG, you will need various resources. Some of them will be difficult to find... These resources:
Scrap Metal
Somatic Gel
Transducer
Tungsten (Tungsten)
Semiconductor
Amount of resources for upgrade - Depends on the difficulty level. Therefore, I think it’s not worth writing... ( PS - I have an English Version of the game and therefore there may be errors in the names of resources or Categories. Sorry! )
