How to unlock the Trusted Contractor achievement in Dead Space - Definitive Guide
Pretty self explanatory. This will be available when you finish your first playthrough of the game on any difficulty.
One thing to note: If you were thinking of doing what any other person would’ve thought of, you’re wrong. Impossible Mode cannot be started on New Game+, the only way to unlock Impossible Mode is to first beat a New Game playthrough on Impossible, this unlocking the mode there, as well as a new suit and weapon.
A general knowledge of what changes in New Game+ (Any Mode):
— You receive 50,000 credits
— You receive 10 nodes
— You receive the Level 6 Suit Schematic (costs 99,000 credits and looks awesome)
— You receive 5 text/audio logs related to Side Quests
— Weapons carry over, including node upgrades
— Items carry over, including credits, nodes etc.
— Your Master Override clearance carries over, which is convenient because if you’re like me, you may have missed something important without realising. It’ll save you 20 minutes hunting the RIGs aboard the USG Ishimura. The boxes that are opened using this will also remain open on the new playthrough, however, you can revisit rooms and you’ll be able to pick up some freebies in each one.
— Enemy layouts/jumpscares/tendency to sneak up from behind (depending on what difficulty, it can be terrifying) is all the same. The one notable difference is the replacement of Necromorph Slashers, Leapers and Brutes with occasional Phantom Necromorphs.
Phantom Necromorphs are the very same creepy dudes found in the original (black with red eyes) and are stronger, faster and more aggressive. Their health pool can be 2-3 times larger than that of a Super variant Necromorph and require severing all limbs on Hard Mode to effectively dispatch. Overall I still wouldn’t say they’re that bad, it’s very manageable. Thankfully they only are present in NG+.
And a bonus, they are available from the get go, rather than later on in the game.
They typically surprise spawn for some non-consensual touching when you don’t expect it, or at the end of a combat encounter where you are forced to fight.

Is it just master override stuff that carries over, and not the level 1 2 and 3 stuff?

Level 1, 2 and 3 clearances do NOT carry over because they are story related. Side-quest stuff DO carry over.

After beating the game for the first time, you can start a New Game+ playthrough, giving you access to all of your weapons, upgrades, and more, as well as a new suit, extra credits, and ten extra nodes. You can tackle this on any difficulty, even Story Mode, which we’d recommend if you’re trying to go for the 1000G - you can read our full roadmap further up.
