You encounter the Leviathan at the end of Chapter 6: Environmental Hazard, where you will have to progress through the East and West Grow Chambers.
The fight with the Leviathan is straight forward for the most part, but some players who are not familiar with the Dead Space series may find it more of a challenge.
Before entering Food Storage where this fight takes place, there is a store. I would recommend that you stock up on a few medium medkits and ammo. It is also worth noting that when you enter the room, the fight is initiated by you going into Zero Gravity; if you keep your feet on the floor, you can use Kinesis to collect some extra items floating around. Some of these items are O2 canisters that may be helpful if you fail to kill it quick enough.
It has 3 tentacles which will reach out to strike you and it will also fire “puke bombs” at you (for a lack of a better word), so it is best to shoot from a distance.
The Leviathan will begin trying to strike you with its tentacles which will linger for a few seconds, exposing a highlighted fleshy weak spot at its base. You need to shoot at it until it lets out a yell and pulls its tentacle back. It will do this a few times until it starts to fire puke bombs from is mouth in the centre.
When this second stage occurs, the air will become poisonous. You’ll need to shoot at its mouth just as it is about to fire, exploding the bombs in its mouth. Watch out for the tentacles during this bit, as they will continue to try to strike you. Once enough hits to the mouth have been completed, the Leviathan will be killed and ejected into space.
The Plasma Cutter is the best all-rounded tool in the game and is the recommended weapon of choice, as most other weapons are ineffective.

This achievement is broken for me, this and Greenhouse Effect haven’t popped and i’m now on chapter 9

The Leviathan is the boss in Chapter 6: Environmental Hazard. This boss fight has 3 phases.

- Phase 1: Dodge the tentacles when they try to hit you and shoot the swollen yellow targets.
- Phase 2: Dodge the yellow pods the Leviathan shoots at you. Catch them or the explosive tanks around the area and shoot them into the Leviathan's mouth.
- Phase 3: You'll now be dodging the tentacles and pods. The Leviathan also releases a poisonous cloud that fills the area and doesn't dissipate. Watch you air supply and use O2 tanks as needed. There are some floating around the area. The goal remains the same. Shoot pods or explosive tanks into its mouth to kill it for good.

You fight the Leviathan at the end of Chapter 6. You must shoot the glowing yellow spots on each of the Leviathan’s three tentacles. Whenever it slams a tentacle down, quickly Zero-G jump because the tentacle will swipe the ground and injure Isaac if you don’t.
