You need the axe to get this trophy. You will obtain the axe in Act 1 Scene 4. With the axe, press 
to attack an enemy. Keep pressing when you fight an enemy and you will eventually perform a combo. If you have trouble, try to push a shadow against a wall.

The earliest you can unlock this achievement is Act 1, Scene 4 (Outskirts) after obtaining the fire axe.
When you get to a bunch of enemies, use your axe to fight them off. Press 
twice in a row on the enemies and you should perform a combo.
