How to unlock the Tales Of Glory achievement in Deadlight: Director's Cut - Definitive Guide
This is without a doubt the hardest trophy in the game. You unlock Nightmare mode after beating the game once.
The difficulty itself will stay the same. There won't be more enemies, and they won't do more damage, but there will be less ammo and first-aid kits.
But more importantly, there will be NO checkpoints and you can't save the game. You will have to complete the whole game without dying.
However, if you die you will respawn at the start of the current act. For example, if you die on Act 2 Scene 8, you will restart on Act 2 Scene 2. So technically, there are 3 checkpoints. But if you leave the game, you will have to start the whole game again!
There is no magical trick to complete this mode. You will need to perfectly know each scenes, and you will need a lot of patience, concentration and a bit of luck.
You can check the collectible guide, as there are full walkthrough videos for each scene. I would recommend watching them a few times before doing each scene. That way you will memorize where the enemies, obstacles, traps, etc. are.
The game itself is not that hard; the first Act is really easy and can be done in 20 minutes. The second Act is the hardest part, it's the longest Act and in the first part there are a lot of traps that require luck and good timing. In the second part, the helicopter is the biggest threat. The third Act is also easy and short.
Again, I would recommend to watch my videos in the collectible guide to help you know the scenes. The videos were made in normal mode, but the game is the same in nightmare.
Note that there is no health upgrade or stamina upgrade in this mode, so when you climb something, always take note of your stamina. If you lose it all you will fall.
Nightmare mode in new to the Xbox One.
There are a few things you need to know before starting Nightmare mode.
1: You have to beat the game once to unlock Nightmare mode.
2: Checkpoints are rare, you get one at the end of act 1 and 2. If you do die you will have to start the act again.
3: If you quit you will have to start all over again from the beginning.
4: Nothing carry over so you will have to finish the game with three health points.
This is a walkthrough of the game without the collectables, but it’s done on the PC. There are a few slight differences. As they do pick Nightmare mode they have fully upgraded health (which must carry over on the PC) and stamina plus the health packs are not in the same place. Apart from that, the game is the same.
