When you grt the two missions from the distribution centre. One will be to collect crystals. Collect them and go back to the distribution centre. Once you completr the crystals tutorial, this will unlock.

yeah never popped for me [peoples porter popped instead], even after i finished building the bridge getting more crystals and going back and recycling them. hell i then bought them from the terminal and then recycled them, still didn't pop.

In the second episode there will be a task to mine chiral crystals. In the terminal, recycle them.
