How to unlock the Postmodern Abstractionism achievement in DEATHLOOP - Definitive Guide
Paint bombs can be collected from the bodies of the suicide vest wearing Eternalist's. You can identify these bombers by the bright white vests attached to them and the constant hissing when nearby. To earn the achievement, kill a bomber, pick up a dropped paint bomb, throw it towards another Eternalist and shoot the bomb to explode the device and hopefully kill said Eternalist.

Because I already had the achievement, I don't know if this discovery works or not, but:
So I came up stealth-style on one of the suicide guys and he was facing away from me. I've got one-shot kills on, so I just shot him in the body with my nailgun. However, the 'X' that usually shows as red denoting a kill, was white. I was confused for a second until I heard the guy say "Oh, no!" and start patting himself down just before he exploded.
I don't know if this works with guns other than the nailgun, so I'd recommend using one, but I think this might get the achievement and is much easier than trying to throw one on an enemy and blow it up.

Just to confirm, the above suggestion of AllOvaMyself, did not work for me. Shooting a paint guy, and having the paint explode did not unlock the achievement for me.

Throughout Blackreef you’ll come across a type of Eternalist that throws paint bombs at you. To get this achievement you need to kill an Eternalist with one of those paints bombs. So, first things first, we found this easiest to do in Karl’s Bay in the morning, in the big warehouse that connects to where Harriet is. There’s a few reasons for this: 1. there's loads of enemies there; and 2. loads of enemies with paint bombs as well.
First things first you’re going to need to kill one of these Eternalists (or even two) - you'll know which ones they are as they have some weird hue around them. Once they’re dead they'll drop their paint bombs - which you can pick up and move.
What you need to do then is create a pile of them, a trap of sorts, one that you can lure an Eternalist into it. Once you have your pile, you’re going to want to go upstairs and get spotted – or shoot your unsilenced gun to bring them to you. Then, when the Eternalist is close to the pile, shoot the paint bomb and set off a chain reaction – which will hopefully kill them. You’ll probably have to turn off the auto aim for this, as it’ll pull onto the enemy, but that’s the best way to get ‘Postmodern Abstractionism.’ If you fail, end the map and try again.

Eternalists with paint bombs are a new enemy added with the DLC. You can find a high number of them around all districts in all periods. They are different from other Eternalists: they've glowing flares and spread some music.
You can get this trophy in two ways:
You can get this trophy in two ways:
- Kill silently the Eternalist with the paint bomb and take one of the bombs with you. Throw the bomb near another Eternalist and when he's near it, shoot the bomb.
- Kill the Eternalist with the paint bomb by making him explode near another Eternalist.

Charles Bay, morning. You will need a "Displacement" ingot with the "Long Arms" upgrade.
We go out and quietly kill a guy who is painting something indecent on a red wall with a can of spray paint. We go a little straight and to the right down the stairs. We see a bored girl next to the trash can, and a little further away a man with fireworks. We wait for the girl to go up the stairs into the building, teleport behind the man’s back and kill him secretly with a machete. We pick up a bomb from his corpse, throw it under the enemy, and shoot at it.
