Gold promotion is the third tier and available as the 7th promotion you unlock.
Beyond the first promotion, which unlocks an Active Perk Slot, Deep Dive and Machine Events access, there are no game-changing benefits. Honor Badges only represent time a player has put into their class. Promotions should be purchased as soon as possible, as players will not receive further XP towards their Character Level once they reach level 25. It also helps increase the Player Rank Rank which unlocks Prestige Assignments and rank titles.
The tier list is as follows.

Silver I
Silver II
Silver III
Gold I
Gold II
Gold III
Platinum I
Platinum II
Platinum III
Diamond I

Finally, I unlocked this achievement today with my Scout.
It costs 43,000 gold and about 300 each of 3 other minerals, so be sure to have some saved up.
Is it just me, or is the Scout the best class?
Also, I want to report that I saw a player who was BLUE LEVEL 2,200+ !!!

Congats man, Im still on the grind. Scout and Engineer are my favorites, there was a guy I watched on stream/played with that was 2400 lol. I love the game but idk about that much.
