How to unlock the Reversals Only achievement in DEF JAM ICON - Definitive Guide

i went to the executive suite, because you can tell when the elevator shaft will open (after the spark) but the penthouse also works. to do a reversal, you have to hold the rt button and just before the computer opponent hits you press either up (for a high attack) or down (for a low attack) on the rs button. it can take a few rounds to get your timing down, but eventually you should be able to time it right. make sure that you keep fighting the same opponent so you can get used to his attack pattern. that will make a huge difference for you getting the timing right and youll know if they do more high or low attacks and where you need to block.

I used a method outlined on x360a by Asian x360a. Make sure that the difficulty setting is set to Hard in the options menu. Select Game Modes, Beatings with Bass. Pick any character. Select Dae Dae as your opponent. Pick the Penthouse as a level. Pick any song (I recommend one that you are familiar with, so you can anticipate the beat). Walk to the window.

Once there, start trying to do a reversal (hold RT + RS up or down, depending on whether the opponents attack is a high or low attack). It will probably take a couple of tries because your window of opportunity is not especially clear and your response time is slow. Don't worry. The window needs to be slightly damaged. Once you successfully do a reversal, your character will stop the opponents attack and grab them. Push the RS in the direction of the window. If it has been damaged enough, they should go right through. Successful after 10 minutes.

Hopefully this provides some clarity for anyone who is still trying to complete the game. It had been awhile for me and I couldn't find a solution as to what to do once you executed a reversal in the first place. Best of luck!

First things first, make sure that the difficulty is set to hard via the options menu. Once that's done, make sure you go to game modes, and go through Beatings with Bass. Doing it in any other mode will not give you the achievement. From there, select the Penthouse for your arena, and Sittin Sidewayz as your theme.

With Beatings with Bass, you lose the ability to scratch, only being able to use the environment when the Bass hits. For your opponent, choose someone named Dae Dae, as he will pretty much do nothing except attack you. Dae Dae will unlock over the course of Build a Label, so you must progress through a bit before you should try this achievement.

You will not be able to do anything at all, except for reversing an attack. To reverse an attack, hold , and press either up or down on the , right before the attack hits you. All attacks are either low or high, hit up if you need to block a high attack, or down for a low attack. Go right away to the window, and make sure it is damaged. Once you do, wait for him to attack, and counter. It may take a few times to get, but once you reverse it, you can grab him. After grabbing him, just throw him right out of the window for this achievement.
