How to unlock the The Path Most Traveled achievement in Defense Grid 2 - Definitive Guide
As for a gold medal. Set the difficulty to easy and it should be a walk in the park!
I build two boosts to separate the entry and exit. Three boosts to lead them up the ramp to the left. Five gun towers on top of the boosts. Two boosts to extend the loop on top of the ramp and another to block off the path and lead 'm back down. A temporal and concussion on top of the two and a gun on the path blocker.
Upgrade to red, build a couple of towers on the exit side to catch any stray aliens and that's that!
In every mission, you can find the command shuttle somewhere on the map. If you hover over it and press , you’ll get some mission info, e.g. how many towers and upgrades you’ve built so far. On some maps, the command shuttle will also offer you extra spaces to build towers on in trade for resources. For this trophy, simply do not buy any of these upgrades during mission 19.
The Command Shuttle enables changes to the map to be purchased in-game, and on Mission 19 it can be used to add 50% more area to the map, extending the possible path of the aliens by an immense amount. However, to unlock "The Path Most Traveled", you need to get a gold medal on Mission 19 without using the Command Shuttle at all. The starting map is so massive that this should not be a problem. The easiest method to earn this achievement is to play Practice mode and build a lot of Concussion towers near the entrance and lasers near the core, with a small helping of Cannon and/or Missile towers scattered around the map to ensure the alien path is nice and long.
