*For Boosting Purposes*

For anyone looking to get this and the Warning Shots achievement, here is a simple set up to make sure it goes by easily and quickly.

Add whoever you are boosting with onto your friends list. From there, go into Multiplayer from the Main Menu screen.
On the bottom of the screen will give you the option to press to invite friend. Invite your boosting partner and search for a DG Fighter game.

Once in the match, the player going for the victory places enough towers to survive while the other player just sit idle. Rinse and repeat for your boosting partner. Place the difficulty on Elite to make the match end even faster.

On the main menu select "Multiplayer" then make sure you have "DG Fighter selected". It will search for an opponent and bring up a prompt when one is found. Remember to change whatever settings you want before searching(difficulty, map, game type, etc.). After a opponent is found, you will have more options to pick depending on the game type. Select what you want and hit A to start the game. You'll have to win the game to get this achievement. Just use strategy to defeat your opponent. Remember that whenever an enemy kills an alien, it will appear in the exact spot it was killed on your map, so be sure to have defenses at both the entry point and near the cores.

Here's a few tips to help you get matched with someone. You can go two routes, through a random or by having a friend/TA-er help you out.

If you have a friend help you out, you can TRY to invite them to a game, but in half a dozen tries, that didn't work for me or my friend. The steps we used to match with each other were:

Go to MP > DG Fighter > Level 1 > Any > Elite

Basically we just chose a level and set the difficulty to Elite. We then searched at the same time and were almost instantly matched with each other. Once in the game, however, it took 4 tries for both of us to get the achievement due to the crap servers this game runs on. Good luck, you'll need it with this game's matchmaking...

Not really a solution, but the netcode for this game is terrible. My friend and I just did the DG Fighter achievements today and had a really tough time getting matched up and got kicked from one match that started.

We did notice that we were only successful at matching when we specified a map and difficulty level, so that might help with matching, but it might also just be a conincidence. We also didn't notice a difference between just trying to match and inviting each other in to matches. Oddly, we had no problem getting matched up for the co-op achievements. We were in a party, too. Not sure if that affects anything. You might try not partying up to see if that works.

I think it might just be that the matching is fundamentally terrible and you're going to have to try over and over until you get matched up. You'll even get dropped from searching, so watch for the timer and "cancel matchmaking" button to disappear so you can retry. It took us maybe a half hour of trying different things before we were finally able to connect and bang out the two matches.
