Great guide; levels 1 through 18 worked like a charm with no problems. I wasn't able to get level 19 to work. I was never able to get the timing right on when to fire the laser. I found a better video for that level if anyone else is having problems.

This video isn't perfect either though. It appears to have some bad edits. You'll see the video skip few times, most importantly at wave 29, and you will miss seeing them upgrade two towers at the bottom of the map. If you play through the video you'll see which ones you'll need to do. At the end of this level I also had to use the laser cannon on the next to last mob, but the video owner didn't have to. I think my timing was slightly off due to the jump in the vid.
I can't comment on the quality of your level 20 video because I haven't made it that far yet, but I'm sure it'll be fine.

Here's my take (I haven't voted either way).
I don't like youtube videos either. I want to read a few paragraphs describing the overall strategy of how I can get a Gold on each level, which takes a few moments. Watching youtube videos takes a few minutes and unless it's narrated by someone, it's pretty hard to figure out what's going on no matter how big your screen is.
I don't like solutions that just post a bunch of youtube links because, while this is convenient for people that want to go watch videos of how to play the game, I'd rather not. Everyone is different.
On a side note, if you ask at the top of the solution for people to tell you why they vote negatively, then argue about it with them when they do, don't bother asking. If you can't take criticism without getting offended and taking it personally, then you shouldn't ask for it.
And not everyone can afford to just go out and buy a bigger laptop/smartphone/tablet JUST to watch youtube videos on. Be a little bit more considerate.

So, after years of being able to use Silvermagicx's movies for the achievement, he has now taken his account down! I have been searching for alternative movies for the achievement, so far I have found Zaybytes to be good, his channel only consists of defense grid movies and i think it covers all story missions, even though quality isn't great, when you do what he does when he does it, you should still be able to get all gold medals! Goodluck!

Trial and error is right...good grief. I wanted to get all golds on my own but have way too many situations where dying enemies pass the cores back to the exit, or towers shoot the wrong enemies... I'm getting most naturally, but have needed to use videos on a few since 4-5 hours of trial and error were going nowhere.

I think he took down his account -- these videos aren't there anymore.

Note: SilverMagics videos DON'T always work. This is due to changes on the Steam version and the Xbox version. If you don't get a gold metal with his video I suggest you try GamerName videos. Those worked for me flawlessly. If that doesn't work then the ones from Nightbirdds are great as well. I had an issue with Center of Power but the Nightbirdd one worked perfectly with over 11000 more credits over to spare.

I also thought zay's gold level walkthroughs were pretty decent. On YouTube just put Zay's + the name of the level your on in the search and it will pull up all of her defense grid walkthroughs. They have commentary and are fairly simple to follow.

Nightbirdd's video's give me gold first try, for Gamername's on some maps i couldn't get gold, even after multiple tries.

To get a gold medal, you have to finish the stage without letting a single core escape (enemies can grab them, but you have to kill them before they leave the map). You also have to get above a certain score designated in the stage select screen.
To get a higher score, conserve your resources. If you try to go for overkill, you won't save enough resources to get the score needed for a gold medal. Try to find the sweet spot where enemies can't get away with the cores, but it's still a bit of a challenge - get there and don't buy / upgrade anything.
Some people tell you to sell your towers right as you're killing the last enemy. Don't bother - the score will be the same. Your final score is a combination of 1x(tower value) and 1x(resources), so selling a tower for 100 resources means you lose 1x100 in tower values and gain 1x100 in resources... it's the same thing. Now, if you can sell the towers a few minutes before the stage ends, the extra resources will help your interest.
There are Youtube videos showing the best tower placements to get gold medals on each stage, but if you're familiar with tower defense games, you shouldn't need them for any of the stages with the possible exception of the finale.
