How to unlock the Combat Turmoil achievement in Defense Grid: The Awakening - Definitive Guide

The first map pack available. You have to win a golden medal on the campaign mode of these two maps. These two maps are pretty cool.

The first map Service Interruption could be pretty challenging. You can use the video below for some helpfull details.

Height of Confusion is an very open map wich is easy to handle.

Succes and have fun!

Excellent videos, the first doesn't look great but it is flawless for Xbox (the other video in the other solution is for PC and took a lot of retrying). For the second video you can make it even more effective. Rather than building two straight lines of guns you make them zig zag, it makes the aliens crawl rather than zip through. Then you shouldn't need to use the Lazer in the end: https://imgur.com/a/SPcKGg3

Upvote. These vids, though lacking in quality, were for the 360 version of the game so they worked like a charm. I tried numerous times to get gold on Service Interruption using the other youtube vids, but the runners on wave 5 always got through. Thanks!

From Campaign Selection, select Resurgence.

Tried the top video, lost two cores somehow, lol. Pretty sure I did everything the same time, within the same wave for sure. Lost one in the final wave after everything was set up. Maybe I'm just having a bad RNG day

I used the attached video to beat Service Interruption (Level 1). If you follow it EXACTLY you should finish with a few hundred points over 65,000 and the gold. Don't forget to STOP BUYING when he does in the video, because the more resources you have at the end the better your score.

If following the video doesn't give you enough points, try:

1) Upgrading the command tower to red earlier (or as quickly as you can without losing to any waves) so you get more resources from it
2) Build a second command tower near the exit so you get extra resources from enemies that make it through the main gauntlet.

Most people will not have trouble on the second map, Height of Confusion. I got it on my first try without a video. Just remember to make a maze that loops around itself so enemies have to walk past the same turrets multiple times. Plop a temporal and a command tower in the middle of the maze so they affect the whole thing. Upgrade to red before building too many green towers. Oh, and start your maze with a turret and inferno NEAR THE CORES and work your way backwards from there. Use LOTS of infernos! (Or, just watch the video below and copy, but thats not as fun!)

I DID NOT MAKE THESE VIDEOS, but I give full credit to the original author (bschie)

Those Youtube movies are not good at all. Just good for a golden medal, but for getting a high score you have to make a totally different set up.

Seeing as the videos are good for a gold medal, and the achievement is for getting a gold medal, I think that they are fine.

This achievement kind of glitched on me, I had to go back to service interruption, start a game, then quit to main menu for the achievement to unlock.

Note that you may need to exit completely out of the game, go back in, start Service Interruption, and then quit to the main menu. I had the same problem, and the achievement wouldn't pop until I exited and restarted the game and then followed EldritchSS's suggestion.

Confirmed as slightly glitched, I followed Sindarin Eagle's instructions and it popped for me afterwards.

Down voted because after following the first video exactly the first time a vehicle slipped through mid way, second time 3 cores were lost at the end. It's a good setup but it's not guaranteed.

Building a 2nd command post doesn't give u extra resources that's why it says effect doesn't stack.....

The second command tower would have a range that does not intersect the first, so it would help by giving you an additional effective radius of increased resources.

There are many different ways to complete each and every level in this game to a gold medal standard. Remember to always ensure that the aliens are taking the longest possible routes so you have more time to kill them. If you make a mistake, you can hit  to go to your last checkpoint; and hit it multiple times to go back further. The videos below show one way to do these levels, however if you find that you are still struggling then there are a few different methods available on YouTube.

These videos are not my own, so full credit for these go to the original creators/uploaders.
