Fastest way to gain Ego is pursuits. You can find them from hitting start then left trigger and selecting goals. Currently there are Season 1 pursuits as permanent pursuits and Episode pursuits as non permanent pursuits.

The defiance website gives you a breakdown of what you got your levels from (Vehicles, pursuits, XP etc.) Could you list your breakdown here so we can have better insight into what this requires?

Also in-game could you time "/played" and tell me what the game responds with so we can have a time estimate?

You also get 10 EGO from filling your XP bar.

Something you might want to add to the guide, once you get over EGO 1000 you unlock the ability to pay with resource to reset a weapons progress bar. Unlocks at like 1035 or something weird. So this way if you fund a weapon you REALLY like you can keep using it to increase your weapon skill.

I've been playing this game since the beta came out and I can't agree with you more when it comes to doing pursuits to help level up. That and being able to replay the story missions for that 1k-3k exp really helped me get to 2500 as well as leveling up my weapons one at a time. 4 levels per weapon level up may not sound like much but in the end it contributes to the overall progress of completion towards this achievement.

Easiest Way to get that EGO Up!!! (DLC-5 UPDATE!!!)

Completing as many of the pursuits in the game as possible while slugging through the main storyline should easily get your EGO rating over 1500. Pursuits can be found in the upper right of your radial menu when you are in the menu screen. These are for doing things like:

- finding audio recordings
- killing so many enemies with certain weapons
- completing story and side quests
- and tons of other things that you will find

Most of these will reward you with just a small amount of EGO points at a time. Somewhere in the 5 - 25 range mostly.

Every time you level up your EGO you get about 10 points every time. An easy way to level up fast with DLC-5 is by engaging in any large world event:

- Incursions
- Major Arkfalls
- Sieges

*These will require DLC to be able to participate in.

I level up at least one time on average every time I do one of these events. I am EGO rating 4500+ now and this still holds true.

So chase the main story, do all the sidequests, and jump into these large world events every time you see them. You'll hit 2500 EGO in no time.

UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE

You gain EGO Rating by doing almost anything, by either gaining enough EXP to level up, or directly earning EGO Rating. Just go through the main story line, pick up any side mission you can, do some challenges, participate in Arkfalls etc. By doing this you wont only earn EXP, but you’ll also complete pursuits which grant EGO Rating. You'll also gain EGO Rating by leveling your weapon skills.
  • Gain Enough EXP To Level Up: 10 EGO Rating
    • Max EGO By Leveling Up: 2600 EGO Rating.
  • Complete Season One Pursuits: 5, 15 or 40 EGO Rating.
    • Complete All Season One Pursuits: 1200 EGO Rating.
  • Complete Episode Pursuits*: 5 EGO Rating.
  • Level Weapon Skill: 4 EGO Rating
    • Level All Weapon Skills: 988 EGO Rating
  • Level Vehicle Skill: 4 EGO Rating
    • Level All Vehicles Skills: 228 EGO Rating
*Episode Pursuits: After 1 or 2 episodes of the TV Show have aired, they might add Episode Pursuits. Completing these will gain your 5 EGO Rating per pursuit. Some of these episode pursuits will disappear after a certain date. These might return for a period of time.

You can speed up the progress. How much faster depends on how much money you’re willing to spend. The game has a store with micro-transactions. With real money you can purchase Bits, with which you can purchase XP EGO boosts. The PSN Store has booster packs which contain these boosts as well. You can also join a clan/group and get Clan/Group XP boosts. These will stack. To check if there are any boosts active, press and use to open the Boosts tab.

This is unlocked by reaching an EGO rating of 2500. EGO rating is earned from leveling up, ranking up weapons and vehicles, and completing pursuits.

At the moment, the maximum EGO rating in the game is 5016 units. Therefore, getting 2500 will not be difficult, even ignoring some elements of the game, but it will take some time. The EGO rating increases for all actions related to increasing the level in the game.

For completing in-game achievement tasks (Pursuit), you can receive a maximum of 1200 units. You can get another 1216 rating units for developing all weapons and vehicles in the game to the maximum - each level in the skill of a weapon or vehicle gives 4 units, a total of 20 levels which in total give 76 EGO rating units for one weapon, there are 13 skills in the game .

However, you will receive the main points for developing the character itself. For killing monsters you gain experience, which gives you points that are used to improve your EGO powers and abilities. There are a total of 80 abilities and 4 powers in the game. To improve one ability to the maximum you will need 3 points, to improve EGO power 5 points. Each maxed ability will give you 30 EGO rating, and each maxed EGO power will give you 50. Thus, if you fully develop your character, you will receive an increase in EGO rating of 2600 units (80*30 = 2400 and 4*50 = 200).

After you finish all the story missions, the best way to quickly gain ego rating is to play co-op missions, kill as many enemies as possible in them and take a leading place in them (ideally ). Don't be distracted by small additional missions scattered around the map... you get a meager ego rating for them. I advise you to correctly set all the perks, get a good killer weapon (the ideal is an automatic grenade launcher with a nano effect, upgraded with good mods), so that your co-op partners do not have time to take down your enemies after you and fall as little as possible. Each fall pushes you to the bottom of the ranking table. Be sure to be the first to heal a fallen comrade...you get a lot of points for this.

On large arcfalls you can also improve your ego rating, but the number of players there is prohibitive (often the ego rating of many players is above 5000), so your chances of becoming a leader in this case are minimized. In co-op mode there are only four players... so it's easier there.

If you like to donate, the Defiance Store can help you... there you can get a bunch of all sorts of goodies for real money, which will significantly speed up the process of your pumping.
