In each deathmatch map there are some items stacked up 2 or 3 high. it might be stone, cacti, or boxes. Just knock down 100 of these stacks for the achievement.
I don't know if this works in private lobbies, but mine unlocked in a public DM game with just me and my 2nd controller.

Just for clarification, I think this achievement unlocks after earning 100 'Breaking Stuff!' skills. So destroying individual elements, as well as knocking over the towers will count (maybe even breaking the presents).
The achievement popped after I had destroyed the stacked items that were laying around (that were not part of a tower). So it may also be simply destroying 100 of those individual nodes.
