I don't think it has to be done in a single session - I had to force-quit the game due to some shadowmap issues near the end of chapter 6, but still picked up the achievement after replaying chapter 5 after completion. Not quite sure why I didn't get that on first playthrough - I definitely read it once, but I restarted that chapter due to companion cylinder shenanigans and maybe I didn't actually read it on the run through when I actually finished the level.

If you're replaying not knowing which one you missed and have already rinsed everything else, the comics in chapters 1, 4 and 5 are within a couple of minutes of the start of the chapter, so try these ones first. 2 is fairly close, 3 and 6 are a bit further on.

Make sure you actually read these as you collect them. If you don't read them, they don't seem to count and you lose them as progress when changing levels after the first play through.

Just had the case that one hasnt count but I can confirm that it still works with chapter select. AS I didnt know which one it was I just played in each chapter until the collectible and made sure that it saved (just in case that 2 havent count) and switched to the next one. Achievement pop when I read #5

Can anyone else confirm if progress for comics is kept if changing chapters? There’s a bug in the game that can lock you in certain doors and the only way I assume you can get out is reloading the chapter.

There appears to be a bug with the comic books if you use level select, had to replay the game to figure out which one got bugged, it was number 6 on my end as i messed up the duck achievement originally which caused me to restart the game.

This achievement did not unlock after the 6th comic, had to recollect/read them again to unlock this achievement. Chapter select worked ! read the book, continue to a save point, back to main menu, and repeat for another comic.

Yeah this one glitched on me too. What happened was, I got to the start of chapter 4. But the door would not open to let me out of the monorail.

Upon googling this, I found other people had the same issue. The only way to fix it, is to quit out to the main menu and then use chapter select to restart the level.

However, using chapter select resets your progress for this achievement!

Such a bad bug! Not our fault. But you can then go back and use chapter select to get them all again.

Once you get a comic, just get to a checkpoint and you're safe to quit out and get the next one and keep doing that until your achievement pops.

I too was hit by the Chapter 4 monorail bug and subsequently, the Moonman progression bug. The achievement also unlocked after I redid comics 1-5 as described by other commenters. Kinda odd how chapter select breaks the achievement... yet it's how you fix the achievement as well.

What I’m hearing is:

If your achievement is bugged and you don’t know which you missed, in chapter select collect 1-3, then 5-6, and if still hasn’t popped, grab 4.
If that’s the bugged one, I don’t know why no one is trying all the others first safely.

Another point/question. Which comics are picked up in an area you perhaps die? Are items reset when you die, thus perhaps was forgotten to be grabbed again..

Pretty glitchy, just keep doing them via chapter select. Mine popped after getting the very first one again, which I know I had already gotten at least twice.

This one is glitched for me. I got them in my first play through and again in level select and no unlock so far. I will have to keep trying level select, but it seems to be a common issue unfortunately.

Having the same issue as the rest, went through the guide and got all of them without getting the achievement. Did it three times now and still nothing..

Edit: So I went through 2-6 again, did it until I reached a save point for each, quit out and level select the next one. As final one I did the 1st one and it unlocked upon reading it..

I'm just posting in case it helps anyone else, I also got stuck in the door with that save point and didn't get the chevo first time round but for me that was indeed the level i had to do. So i reckon if u got stuck in the wall don't do them all just try Copernicus Outpost first.

I had to re-collect the one on Pearson Spacestation. Most likely I looked at it the first time, but didn't follow up with the 'Read' prompt as I don't think there's any way I could have died before triggering a save.

Comic book achievement hasn't unlocked, and I haven't touched Chapter Select. I read this before hand and ensured I read each 3-4 times just it make sure it registered. I didn't have the glitch but I did have to retry the no damage from the robot achievement a few times so I will start with Chapter 3 (maybe mission 1 as the comic is pretty immediate).

I guess I didn’t read the one in Pearson Space Station. I KNOW I collected 6/6 but guess I only read 5/6. I restarted the game after not getting the achievement at the end. I replayed from level 1 and went onto level 2. Got the achievement when I read the comic book here. Hope this helps if you are in the same position.

Via chapter select, play each chapter in order, collect and read each comic, and CONTINUE TO THE NEXT SAVE POINT before exiting to the main menu to load the next level!

Glitched on me too. Didn't level select, and I read and rotated each comic 360 degrees. Had to do level select for each one in order, after waiting for a save point. Mine popped right after reading the 5th, and I'm 100% certain I read that one in my first playthrough.

Yup, must "read" all six in one session... Don't quit the game. You can use the "chapter selection" tool only after you pass a save point after you have "read" one. There was a comment with these directions on a different video attached to this achievement... They were spot on and it popped for me!

I came back today just for this achievement after almost 2.5 months of not playing. I started from comic #1 and it popped after reading comic #4 in the guide. I don't think having to read them all in one session is a must as I didn't read #5 or #6 today.

Just adding that I replayed chapters 1-5 in its entirety with reading the first 5 comic books. Then for the last one, I read it and went through to the next save point but no pop. Maybe I needed to/should've finished the game again at that point, but I just quit out.

This achievement and the end "boss fight" puzzle with the lights and reactor both extremely pissed me off. They made an otherwise enjoyable game drive me crazy from the perspective of achievement hunting.
I can CONFIRM that for me I just had to re-get the first one on the first mission again and it popped immediately. Thank God!

Something is definitely wrong with this one, as the game doesn't seem to properly register when you pick these up. I had to go through Level Select and recollect them again. It unlocked for me at the second magazine.

Worth noting that you NEED to get to a checkpoint after you've read each magazine, otherwise it may not register.

Didn’t unlock for me after following a guide, I played this game in May last year didn’t like it, carried on my save in April after hearing it was leaving GP and completed it in two more sittings. So definitely didn’t go them in one sitting. After I got the other 970g I just loaded up chapter 1 and collected that comic and it unlocked straight away maybe if you do collect them it bugs so collecting one again just forces the unlock

Had this bug on me. Followed Dave Dio advice above (to try 1,4,5 to begin with as close to start of chapters). Collected those 3 and no achievement popped. Everytime i picked up a Comic, i'd pause and use 'Level Select' to move on to trying another

Anyway, after doing 1,4,5 an no pop - i moved onto 2,3,6 and still no pop. I decided i'd have to do them all again and this time, get to a save point before loading the next level in to get the Comic but after going back to Ch.1 and picking up the first Comic - achievement unlocked

I had problems with this one too. Then I noticed that the game doesn't auto-save when you pick up a comic. So dying right after reading a comic could cancel it. In my case I died during my first run just after picking up comic #3 (in the crew area - mission 3) by being killed by the robot.

When I red that comic for the second time (using chapter selection) the achievement unlocked.

Ok so I've just done it but what a phaff....it's to do with the door not opening in the monorail I think...anyways I level selected and read the comics 3x and nothing...so then I read the comics and continued until the game saved (just showed the circular arrow bottom right...it does a save when you grab an audio log so look out for them) doing it this way it popped on the 4th comic....the one you get after that monorail door bug...
So glad I've done it, it was a good game, I loved being able to walk on the moon and see the Luna landing site and the Monolith for 2001 A Space Odyssey....the only thing I didn't like was our Moonman's movement, I thought it could be better animated.....oh and I wish you could customise the Spacesuit and lastly I wish our little buddy robot could do more...laser cut stuff itself for instance..but all in all it was great and I hope they bring out some DLC and follow it with a Mars game where we get to see the Face On Mars...

Did them all the first time and nothing. Went back and re did them in this order: 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, and then it popped on 4. It's bugged, don't know what to tell ya.

I had this fail on me, too. I was following the walk through so I know I didn’t miss any. I went through chapter select and grabbed them all again in order, but had the monorail door bug when I was trying for it to register a save in chapter 4. I think it bugs if you put the code in the upstairs terminal early, before putting it in the door panel. So after doing all 6, I went back to chapter 4 and it thankfully unlocked.

Hopefully this gets patched. They should add the comics to the astrotool so you know which one it isn’t registering at least. It added over an hour to the completion time.

I looked at the forum thread about this and I think scotwolf2 has it right there. You need to make sure you hit a save point after collecting the comic. (This has been suggested at in the comments here, as well).
I went through them backwards, figuring I was more likely to have died later in the game. It was the one in the the very first chapter that unlocked the achievement...

I also did all 6 in one session via chapter select (obviously quit to the main menu but never closed the game). I was surprised at how long I had to play after a couple of them before the save icon appeared in the bottom-right.
It's tough when a dev can't count to 6 properly!

I had the same experience as UnfurledEmu75 , still super bugged and I got it by starting each chapter, reading the comic, moving the next auto save (circular arrow icon in the middle of your screen), quitting to menu and going to the next one. Chapter 2 on Pearson Station finally popped it for me too. I hate that these aren’t somehow noted in your astro-wrist-thing.

I can confirm both. I had to do the end fight three times and the Cosmic Marveller glitched for me in my walkthrough. I once again collected every comic by chapter selection and played on until the next save point but didn't got achievement.

Then I started a new game that removes all collectibles. Fortunately, you can use the chapter selection after. Collected every comic, read it and rotated it 360 ° after No. 6 I got the achievemnet.

Completed the whole game in one sitting and this popped no problem. I always flipped each comic round several times and read the text by pressing X. Around the start of the third area, I realized I'd somehow completely missed one of the first collectibles and had to use Level Select to go back to the first area to get it, but after that, I went back to the third area with Level Select, continued with the rest of the game and the achievement popped right on cue as I read the sixth comic.

Yeah this seems to be bugged for me too. I followed along with a guide for the collectibles, and this was one of the few achievements that didn't pop by the time I finished the story.

I went back through with the chapter select, grabbed all 6 comics again, and it still didn't unlock the achievement.

I'll have to try again through the level select later.

Edit - It finally unlocked on my third time going through (second time with chapter selects) on the 6th comic. Ridiculous.

Glitched for me. I went back immediately after finishing the game and got them in reverse order, finishing with the one at the very start of the game and it popped. I definitely got this one first time through, so the issue may be that they all have to be done in one sitting

cheevo popped . used chapter selection . "readed" all comics in "one sitting" !!! don´t close the game !!! otherwise the cheevo won´t pop !!!

after readed one, play until the next savepoint . then select the next chapter .
took me about 30 mins to collect them all again

If you do chapters select at the end, be wary to wait before next checkpoint like lerrometal said otherwise it won’t work. I picked up every comics around 3 times before it finally poped.

The comics are not something you can collect. In fact you do not even need to read them. You must simply interact with each of them.

It's not really necessary to read magazines. At least, the trophy dropped for me as soon as I picked up the fifth issue at the fifth level (I missed it on my first playthrough). I took it on PS5, maybe something changed in the latest updates.

It is very important to keep each magazine in reading mode for 10-15 seconds, rotating it and it is advisable to repeat it 2-3 times on each magazine, since for some reason many players have problems with this trophy. It’s better to spend 1 minute on each magazine than to then search for more than an hour for the one that didn’t count, selecting chapters, reaching the magazine again, reading it again and moving on to the next save point, since the game won’t count it any other way.
