Just don't skip any of the minigames by pressing 
on the dpad during a minigame.
Good thing though you are free to abuse the hint button as much as you like outside of minigames and hidden objet scenes. Wich can get you though the game pretty easily.
The mini games in general have gotten a lot easier than in early Artifex Mundi games.
