How to unlock the Death By a Thousand Cuts achievement in Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles - Definitive Guide

The description is a little misleading. In reality the combo isn't 5 hits (atleast its not for Tanjirou). In order to get this just activate boost or surge (either is fine) and hit X until you do a little animation at the end of your combo. In terms of how much health your opponent needs so you kill them with the combo, try to make it so that they have a little more health than their first blue bar.

Edit: According to XxiiKILLu4FUNxX it must be on the final round.

it won't work for me, the animation played for me and I won the round but I didn't get the achievement, this has happened on multiple occasions

It has to be on the last round when you win the match. I had the same problem where it didn't unlock after getting it on round 2
