How to unlock the That seems about right... achievement in Deponia - Definitive Guide

At the top of the post office is a box of carrier pigeons that you'll have to re-arrange. Before you can do this you must first get the Magnetic Field Machine item from the Mayor's Office.

Head to the Mayor's Office across the hall from the Post Office. Once inside use the bell to open up the Mayor's Desk. If it's still the hidden drawer than use the Divining Rod on the desk to turn it back into the bed. Now check the cushions to find the Magnetic Field Machine, take it.

Return to where the pigeons are and place the Magnetic Field Machine in the cupboard next to the pigeons. Interact with it to start the puzzle.

You'll now be met with a grid with buttons. You'll have to hit these buttons in a certain order to complete the puzzle. Here'a an image with the buttons marked A through D and the order you'll have to press them in:

Once you've messed with awakening Goal, you'll be able to return to the Assembly Hall to find the mayor asleep. Collect the clock on his neck and use it at the visitor's desk in the Town Hall to open the post office. As soon as you enter, you'll see on the left screen another doorway leading up to the Operator's platform. This will be where the puzzle is located. Return to the Mayor's room and unlock his bed in the drawer, then look under the pillow to find the planet's magnetic field. At the operator's platform is a fuse box near the pigeons that is strangely empty. Put the field machine in here and then mess with it.

The goal is to, for some reason (not clearly described when I was playing) make it so the middle column only has one lit-up bubble to it. Look at the device as if it were a phone, with 1-2-3 on the top, 4-5-6 on the middle, 7-8-9 on the bottom, and 0 at the very bottom on its own.

Using the phone layout, operate the dials itself to dial: 6 5 5 4 5 5 6 5 5 8
If you have to, back out after you've made the middle column show only one. The bars at the top help you keep track of this.

Missable!

On the Platform area above the Post Office are several pigeons. In the Mayor's Office you'll find a magnetic field device that can be used to control them.

Imagine this thing like a telephone keypad: 1-3 on the top row, 4-6 in the second row, 7-9 on the third, and a lonely 0 at the bottom. Sequence: 6 / 5 / 5 / 4 / 5 / 5 / 6 / 5 / 5 / 8. Back out of the puzzle to unlock the trophy.

If you skip this puzzle, you will void the trophy, and must play through the game again to unlock it.

The correct combination is 6 – 5 – 5 – 4 – 5 – 5 – 6 – 5 – 5 – 8.

You need to solve the pigeon puzzle so that the first pigeon that will deliver your package falls.

I used the option from the second tip, adding an absolute ignore of the mail bot - straight to the cats, then upstairs without further ado. The prize came out immediately after solving the puzzle.

According to the recipe above, the trophy did not fall out, I found a faster way, see screenshot, 1-1-2-3 (or 5-5-4-8 as in the recipe above) and fell out immediately
