How to unlock the Go the extra mile achievement in Descenders - Definitive Guide

This is one of the hardest achievements in the game. Luckily, not all 5 worlds have to be done in one run and can all be done individually. The first tip I can give you is to practice with seeds 1001 through 1005. They don't give achievement progress, but it's better to get accustomed to the tracks here than waste up to 40 minutes on a run, go in blind and fail. That being said, let me explain.

Bonus worlds are identified on each map from Highlands to Volcano by a star, usually on the edge of the map and opposing the boss jump. Another ~easy~ way to pinpoint their locations from afar is looking at the player count on tracks. These tend to have a higher count as people are stuck there longer. You have whatever lives you bring into the track and you HAVE TO complete the bonus objective on the track THEN ride through the finish line for it to count.

The first bonus world is Construction Site on Highlands. This is one of the hardest ones of the bunch and requires you to reach the top of the construction site without crashing. There's a bunny hop early on that is the hardest obstacle here. Use Y to switch between camera angles to toggle between first person and the default camera to place yourself.

The second bonus world is Mega Ramp in Forest. The best way to do this (via Maka91) is to begin with a front flip + trick, get a clean landing, hit the first ramp and do a triple backflip + trick, then hit a 540 + trick on the second ramp. If you're still missing points, try and carry the momentum back to ramp facing you and backflip off, even extend with some 180's if need be.

The third bonus world is The Ranch in Canyon. Best tip I can offer for this one is starting earlier in the run and trying to get the sped up rotations perk. Superman = down on right stick + LB. No Hander = up on right stick + LB. Can Can = diagonal down/left + LB.

The fourth bonus world is Moon in Peaks. This is probably the easiest one as long as you have good control of your bike and the physics.

The fifth and final bonus world is the real challenge. This one is Kids Room in Volcano. My biggest tip for this one is having the improved bunny hop perk. Remember to keep an eye out for player count, if someone's out this far and out on the very edge, there's a good chance they're in the Kids Room. The biggest pain about this one is it requires you to reach the Volcano. To reach the Volcano, you have to complete the fire node and fire ring boss jump for each region from Highlands to Peaks. Once in Volcano, you have to find the bonus world like any other. Once again, use seed 1005 beforehand to practice because one of the toys you need to collect is unbelievably difficult. Ride the left ramp down, carry your speed all the way to the far back of the room, ride up the massive ramp from bottom left to top right, bunny hop onto the wall, bunny hop off the wall over the log and into the toy. It's damn near impossible normally but I got it within a handful of tries with the bunny hop perk.

Here's a clip by Maka91 which should help a lot as it's much more compressed than mine was. https://twitter.com/PMaka1991/status/1128152464199487489

Good luck. This one is not easy nor fun.

What are you referring to when you say to use a seed ?

You can go into Freeride and enter a seed. That will give you the specific track that seed refers to. In this case, 1001 is the first bonus world, and so on up to 1005.

I had no idea what a bonus world was, so +1. I did the first one and the tracker didn't go up. Does the tracker not work for this achievement?

Nope. The only way to keep track is to go Freeride - Bonus Worlds. Whatever you've beaten the bonus objective for, and therefore checked off for this achievement, will be there.

Do I have to do all of these in a single session?

No, thankfully! I’ll update the solution later to include that.

It's possible to drop down on the left ramp, turn sharp right and hit that ramp under the toy to get it.

If you're following the video way, the most important thing is pumping that first launch. Hit down on the R stick when your bike is completely diagonal on the track and let go (not up) before you hit the bottom while you're still diagonal. If you dont reach 52, brake and press B to try again.

Yo probably one of the hardest achievements, if not the most stressful I've obtained. Thanks for the tips and well done to everyone who unlocks it.

It's definitely a really hard one. I got the hardest toy in Kids Room first just to avoid my nerves getting the best of me haha. Good job!

Looks like another glitched achievement for me... I've done every map, unlocked every map for freeride, but nothing.

putting the actual requirements for each world would be helpful as practicing on the seeds doesn't display the objectives. At least for the 3rd bonus world, haven't checked the others.

Thanks for sharing Maka91's clip! I had absolutely no idea how to collect the doll that is located above the wooden beam in the back :o

It's much easier to get that one toy in the kids room if you go down the right ramp, just cut off a little early to avoid the obstacle and then moon jump up the ramp to the toy. I was getting up there about 25% of the time while practicing, going the other way was more like 1%.

If you want to practice the tricks at the ranch in freeride they are: Superman backflip, 540 no hander, and 180 can can.

I think it's easier to go into the park ride up the ramp to the right turn around, go back down with a down pump while pedaling for speed and then do the tricks on the halfpipe straight ahead.

Also make sure you are using the first bike (sorry I don't remember the names) because the other bikes have alternate moves for diagonal down.

There are five bonus levels in Descenders which are found in the four standard Career worlds and the one hidden world Volcano (see below on how to access Volcano world). They DO NOT need to be completed all in the same session. Once a bonus level is completed successfully, you will gain access to the level in freeride which makes it easy to keep track of which ones you have already done if you forget. The bonus levels are as follows:

Highlands: Construction Site
Forest: Mega Ramp
Canyon: The Ranch
Peaks: The Moon
Volcano: Kids' Room

The bonus levels on each world map are always located on the outer perimeter of the map and are often out of the direct route to the boss jump. Explore the edges of the worlds until you find the bonus track. If you notice a red circle with a number on an uncovered track on the edge, that is likely the bonus world (it indicates the player count on each track, and players seem to congregate on bonus worlds).

They can pose a challenge, but they are easy if you know the right techniques. The hardest part of this achievement is getting to the Volcano world to even get access to the Kids' Room bonus level - you'll need to complete all fire node tracks on each world and jump through the fire ring on each boss track. Only then will you travel to the Volcano after the Peaks boss jump.

Yeah that one was the trickiest for me. Once I found out I had to bunny hop way before the end of the ramp it was much easier. Glad it helped!

I think it's important to stress just how early the bunny hop needs to be to get some of those dolls in Kids' Room.

Superior solution here for the hard toy. Burned 20 lives across 3 attempts the other way, got it first try with this vid. Thanks.

Awesome trick with the bunny hop on the beginning of the ramp for toybox. Made it so easy with the bunny hop perk. I was on my last life then watched your video with sound laugh

Bonus levels are always on the border of the world map away from the direct route to the boss track. Although only the levels adjacent to the tracks completed are uncovered, the bonus levels will often have more people playing them (indicated by a small red circle with the number of players in your session playing the level). So if you see a high number of people on a track on the border of the map, chances are it is the bonus level.

To get this trophy you need to complete 5 bonus levels on five main maps:
  • Construcyion Site on the Highlands map
  • Mega Ramp on Forest map
  • Ranch on Canyon map
  • Moon on the Peaks map
  • Kid's Room on the Vulcano map

Bonus levels are marked with an asterisk when selecting a stage on a particular map.
To pass the bonus level, you need to complete the task marked in the upper right corner and then get to the finish line. Each map has its own task.
Video guide (en) with the passage of all bonus levels.
Please note that to complete some bonus levels you will definitely need some team members (boosters). The author of the guide attached above talks about this. So, for example, to complete the Mega Ramp you will definitely need a booster, which reduces swaying when driving backwards. And to complete the Ranch, boosters will not hurt, increasing the force of the jump and the speed of rotation in the air.
I advise you to stock up on extra lives before each bonus level, because you will have to spend a lot of them. I accumulated at least 9 - 10 HP before going for the bonus. It is best to farm HP on the first map, Highlands, because it has the easiest extras. tasks and not so difficult stages. Well, of course, we shouldn’t forget about reviving using the “circle” button, which doesn’t waste HP. After farming extra. life, we carefully drive to the next cards and look for bonus levels there.
In general, almost all bonus levels are not difficult, they can be done in 2-3 attempts, after several training sessions. The only level that is guaranteed to have problems is the Kid's Room, because... it is located on the Vulcano map. And this map, as we know, opens only if you complete all the boss jumps through the burning ring in one session. And on the plus side, even if you complete the boss jump on Vulcano, it will not become available in the main menu like all other maps. So here I advise you to be patient. And the task itself at the Kid's Room level is not very difficult, the main thing is to take your time, practice a little and try to bring at least 5 HP to this level.

The last bonus level is located in the Volcano location called Kids Room. The remaining bonus levels from the Highlands to the Peaks are scattered throughout the world.
