How to unlock the Made It achievement in Descenders - Definitive Guide

I had one heck of a time trying to scrub off enough speed so I was going 75 km/h when I left the ramp...and knew there had to be a spot to start where the speed would match perfectly. I found that spot to be right where the tape ends on the right side of the track.

Included the video for reference.

Do you have to bunny hop off the ramp being held by the helicopter? I just landed on the ramp two of three times at the start of the ramp but couldn’t make the last ramp.

No, you shouldn't have to hop, doesn't really hurt though... The key really is the speed, getting it JUST RIGHT so you have enough speed to reach the down slope of the half pipe. If you shoot too far and land in the flat you will not make it.

Not so much a guide but more or less a tip.

I've found hitting a speed just over 75 right before hitting the ramp has placed me perfectly onto the half pipe being held by the helicopter. (Playing cautiously from highlands also allows you to stack lifes for this jump. I had 10 lifes by the time I made it to this jump.)

Hope this helps a little bit, good luck everyone!

Curtieson, I kept getting "dont break" or "dont let go of RT" so I decided to go from highlands. I think I also wasted lifes trying to do a couple sponsorship goals when I went for it. But I had also had a go in a free race session with unlimited lifes. And that 75 area is key, I agree if you had different course objectives you could start past highlands. But i just say highlands to get the most lifes you can if you're struggling.

Thanks. Going to give that a try. Had 10 lives too but waited 3 in one go when chopped by the helicoper ;-)

Having 10 is nice...but starting at Peaks is still going to be faster. You have to finish 3 boss jumps to get to Peak for 10 lives, could just inch your way through Peaks 3 times and that would be like having 12 lives.

I do second the speed of 75 though. I was trying to hit 60 and it shorts, got to 80 on another try and you land in the middle of the ramp and fail the second half jump.

Worth noting if you do the peaks boss jump with all fire nodes active it doesn't unlock this achievement.

Peaks boss jump is at the beginning of the video. I point out some tips of how to complete the jump successfully.

For the record, you need to be about 47-48 MPH. You are quoting the km/h number and saying MPH.

Obviously those are the same speeds.

Surprised you're the first one to notice that but thank you. At the time I was switching between metric and US units but yeah..

Do you need to bunny hop off the track that the helicopter is holding or can you just accelerate hard as soon as you land?

The boss level in the Peaks world must be completed to unlock this achievement. There are two variations of the boss level depending on whether or not the peaks fire node level (indicated by a flame icon) has been completed or not.

If the peaks fire node is NOT completed, the boss track will include two jumps. The first jump is onto a ramp held up by a helicopter, and the other small jump is from that floating ramp to the elevated boardwalk where the finish line is located.

If the peaks fire node IS completed, the boss track will include a helicopter dangling a circle of fire you must jump through to reach the boardwalk on the other side. This version of the boss track is slightly easier than the other version of the jump.

Both varieties of the level will require the same speed to safely land the jump - about 75 to 80 kph. It may take several tries, so it is wise to save up as much extra lives as possible by completing bonus objectives on the tracks leading up to the boss.
