How to unlock the The Final Challenge achievement in Descenders - Definitive Guide
1) For the Highlands and Forest boss jumps, you don't actually have to go off the jumps and land them to travel to the next world. Simply ride around the obstacles and cross the finish line.
2) Take it slow, and remember you don't have to follow the path of the track or go off any stunts to complete any level.
3) Complete the easy bonus objectives (such as "Get _ seconds of air time" or "Reach _ kmph") and avoid attempting difficult bonus objectives. This will award you extra lives.
4) Take a direct path to the boss track and choose easy difficulty tracks and medic camp tracks if discovered.
5) The Canyon is the only boss jump that must be completed to reach the Peaks world. The Canyon boss level has a giant gorge in the middle of the map which must be jumped over and landed to reach the finish line.
The video below shows how to land the jump efficiently (Canyon jump starts at 1:30). Also, speeds in kmph not mph as I wrongly stated.
Tips:
1. Don't go for all the bonus objectives. Your primary goal for this run is to just survive.
2. Use your brakes constantly. Keep your speed slow and only take the necessary jumps to proceed.
3. On Canyon levels there are red & white banners. These banners indicate a large hole in the ground. Go into attack pump and jump when you reach the banner, you will hop these holes with ease.
4. If you lost too much speed you can reset to the last checkpoint and not loose health.
5. As you unlock perks, select the most beneficial ones for this run such as landing harder before bailing.
6. When taking large jumps with speed, you want to land on your front wheel only a split second before your back wheel for a clean landing. Too far forward and you will bail for 2 health.
The Peaks is the fourth world in Career mode. To reach this world you must complete the canyons boss level which requires you to jump over a large canyon and land safely to ride through the finish line on the other side.
To complete the canyon boss jump, it is advised to obtain the crew-members 'speed wobbles' and 'landing impact'. This will make it easier to keep your bike from veering off course of the small ramp and reduce the chances of wrecking while landing hard. Aim for a speed of 75 to 80 kph at the time your bike hits the lip of the ramp. Accelerate and decelerate with the left and right triggers to maintain the target speed as you hit the ramp. As tempting as it may be, it is best to not bunny hop at all - just glide off the ramp and let gravity take you across the ravine.
