How to unlock the Inferno achievement in Desperados III - Definitive Guide

Available during the mission The Magnificent Five just after you get control of Hector and are given the tutorial on torches and oil traps.

No need to work out a way to lure 5 guards at once into a trap, just switch to nonlethal and go around knocking out guards. You can use Hector for this since he can knock out the long coats and has fast carry speed. Use showdown with both characters to handle any groups of two.

Form a pile of tied up guards (make sure not to drop them on bushes or the body will disappear) and once the area is clear all you need to do is bring them to the oil trap and dump them in the middle. Go back to the bonfire to grab a torch, light them up and you can add this to the list of cruel and unusual things you've done for achievements.

I have tried multiple times to unlock this on different difficulties and it won’t unlock. Even following the guide and having 15 people in the oil trap, still nothing

This can only be earned during the fifth mission, "The Magnificent Five", at O'Hara Ranch.

Throughout this mission you'll notice several shimmering puddles on the ground (oil traps) that can be ignited by throwing a torch at them. However, while playing naturally, you'll never get more than three enemies in one oil trap's radius, so you'll need to set this up.

The easiest way to do this is to clear out an area near an oil trap by knocking out enemies. You can then tie them up and leave them in the oil traps. Once you've gathered your five victims simply set fire to the oil trap by throwing a torch.

Note: Your characters will use lethal force by default. To change this hold  and then press . Repeat this for each character.

Mission on a farm, you need to throw a torch into a kerosene puddle so that 5 enemies burn (part 2 of the task does not count)

You can stun enemies by tying them up and collecting them all in a puddle, then set them on fire

McCoy has two green bottles.
We knit three of them in the place where they give out bottles, and we knit three more near Hector.
We clean the area, drag the bodies and burn them.

Mission 5: Ohara Ranch. Performed at the “desperado” difficulty level. On the left on the map there is a corral and a kerosene puddle in it. For a long time I tried to figure out how to lure five people there (you will only have McCoy and Hector at your disposal. Now to the point. Two people are already standing in the puddle. That is, you need to lure three more there. The third will be Cloak, which is patrolling and is just passing through It’s hard to lure the rest, so we secretly kill everyone who is on the edges, kill one of them noisily so that the alarm is raised and hide. When everything calms down, two guards will begin to patrol very close to the puddle, so we lure them there with McCoy’s suitcase. Well, when all five are there, we run up with Hector and throw a torch. I hope there are simpler options, but I haven’t found any))
