How to unlock the Sheriff's Badge achievement in Desperados III - Definitive Guide
To activate developer mode, just plug a usb keyboard into your xbox and type thisisnotsupported on the options screen. A popup will show you that dev mode is enabled and a new menu item called DEV will appear.
In that menu, you can click on the options to unlock all levels and challenges which will allow you to see all badge requirements from the start.
During a level, just press the following buttons to use these cheats:
Enable Immortality: +
Disable Immortality: +
Enable Invisibility: +
Disable Invisibility: +
Teleport to cursor: +
Kill the target under the cursor: +
Credit to RAILBAIT for posting the method for the Windows 10 version. I just discovered it also works on the xbox version.
My biggest tip is to play the game through once on hard. Get the difficulty out of the way, and unlock the ability to look at the badges while in mission by completing them once through. When you then go to work on badges you can safely do so on beginner difficulty with the exception of using the dog to kill guards on the New Orleans mission (has to be normal up).
There are 120 badges total spread across missions meaning you do not need to get every badge in every mission. You have room to skip 30 badges.
-Playing missions on hard is not overly difficult when compared to normal and it is an easy way to secure 14 badges. The biggest changes can be seen in the increased number of long coats and ponchos, and the addition of dogs in certain missions. You will also have a much shorter detection window as well as an overall increase in the number of enemies (although not major like the jump to desperado).
-In general I did not attempt the time limit badge in any of the missions except for mission 5, O'Hara Ranch. In addition, the only mission I maxed out with all eight badges was O'Hara Ranch.
-The three major badges do not weigh more than the lower five and they often require you to play the game differently or do something extra/specific.
-For some of the more niche or difficult badges there are a slew of YouTube videos demonstrating techniques on how to do them. You can also find speed runs, hard playthroughs, and guides all over YouTube.
-If a badge says you cannot kill anyone, that does not mean you cannot engage enemies. Switch your characters to knock out mode instead of kill. You can hide them in bushes and buildings, however you have to be careful when throwing a body, they will only survive smaller drops (one floor seems ok). Save and check your badge status often.
-Isabelle and Hector are OP. When in doubt I found myself using them more than any other character BY FAR. Isabelle's abilities and speed are unmatched and Hector has the fastest kill and movement of enemies in the game. They are great for getting people out of tight spots and for clearing entire maps. They were my go-to characters.
-Knocked out / tied up enemies can be used to lure even Ponchos and Long Coats and you have time to eliminate them as they take time to untie the other NPC before raising the alarm (unlike dead bodies where they raise the alarm when getting close).
If there are any questions, comments, concerns, or tips you would like to add reach out and I'll keep this updated! Best of luck.
1. Start mission + manual save
2. Play the game normally using quick save when needed.
3. Before hitting the par time make a new manual save then restart the mission.
4. Once the cinematic starts load 1st manual save(oldest) then the 2nd(lastest). Time reset 😉
5. Rinse and repeat rewritting the 2nd manual save with your progress.
There's a total of 112 badges to collect, eight in each mission (with the exception of mission 1 and 7). This means you can skip a total of 22 badges. (Badges from the DLC missions will NOT count for this trophy.)
Due to the fact that some of these badges conflict with each other, you will have to play through some missions twice. (The time required for these second playthroughs can be reduced by saving at strategic moments if desired.)
Every mission has a badge for completing it on hard difficulty, but all other badges can be collected on beginner difficulty. Aside from hard difficulty, there are also badges to speedrun each mission.
The rest of the badges are earned by performing a variety of tasks. Some of these can be very insignificant, while others will restrict you in some way (e.g.: no kills, never use a certain character,...) or require you to finish the mission using different methods or paths.
For more information regarding these badges, including tips on how to complete them, please refer to my Desperados III - Supplement Guide: Mission Badges.
Method to bypass the timer:
1. Start any mission, after the introductory cutscene, immediately press Options and save, but not using a QUICK save, but in a REGULAR save cell.
2. We play for fun, but carefully monitor the timer so that the speedrun badge does not fall off, I left one or two minutes before the test fails. NOW ATTENTION!!!!!! Make a QUICK save and exit to the main menu.
3. Load the REGULAR save that you made at the beginning of this mission. Check the time counter, there should be 2-3 seconds from the start of the level.
4.Now we simply load our last QUICK save, made 1-2 minutes before losing the speedrun stripe.
5.After all the manipulations have been performed, open the menu, look at the zeroed sensor and calmly continue to go through the mission. If we still fail, repeat steps 2 to 4.
This manipulation can be carried out as many times as you like, the main thing is to have time to make a QUICK save before the stripe disappears, otherwise you will have to start the mission over again and repeat all the above instructions again.
Do everything you need (kill, run, make noise, hide). As soon as you are ready to complete the stars you need, save (you can quickly save) and turn off the game. Launch it again and select continue in the main menu. The game will load the last save, think that you started a simple mission and launch the stars, since the stars have just launched - everything you did before the save does not count (if the star is to kill someone, do not kill before manipulating the appearance of the stars)
Also, despite the timer in the pause menu, the game will count down the start of the mission from the moment it loads and the stars appear. It will also consider that you are playing on hard. Therefore, at a minimum, by saving and restarting the game before the end of the mission, you will receive stars for speed and completion on hard
