How to unlock the High-Stakes Play achievement in Destiny 2 - Definitive Guide
This guide is for those who cant unlock it after new light update.
There is a new mode included on the MP section. ITS GAMBIT. You can play it without the FORSAKEN DLC, but for the achievement you need have FORSAKEN DLC.
In the GAMBIT section are three modes:
*Gambit.
*Gambit prime.
*Reckoning.
For the achievement YOU NEED TO PLAY "GAMBIT", gambit prime and reckoning DOES NOT COUNT.
If you win and no cheevo you have to do:
*Delete your character.
*Create one new.
*Play the new light story to reach the tower.
*Play GAMBIT and win (its a 3 rounds based game)
*If the achievement does not pop press start, settings and select "SWITCH PROFILE".
*Select your profile again and select the same character you win, and your achievement must be pop when you load the character.
The switch profile setting work for me for these achievements too:

Gambit is a new mode that blends PvP and PvE. It's pretty fun is available from the time that you begin Forsaken. The goal of Gambit is to bank 75 motes to summon a Primeval and kill it before the other team in a best two of three rounds match. Motes drop from getting kills on enemies. For every 25 motes that are banked, a portal opens up to the other team's area. Anyone on your team can invade and kill the players on the other team.
Some tips for Gambit:
Some tips for Gambit:
- A team has the advantage over a team of random players. If you see yourself matched up against a full fireteam of four, then back out of the match and try to match make again.
- Bank you motes in increments of five. If you have three motes, don't bank them because you're just wasting them. Banking five motes, 10 motes, or 15 motes summons a different sized blocker to attack the other team. When this is done, the other team cannot bank motes until the blockers are dead. Sending multiple small blockers causes the other team more problems than large or medium blockers.
- Invade when you see the other team doing damage to their Primeval. Deaths heal the Primeval, so if you time your invade right and get some kills, not only will the other team lose time doing damage, but the Primeval will also regain some health.
- Heavy weapons are excellent when invading. Sleeper Simulant, rocket launchers, supers, shotguns, etc. that can get quick kills are particularly useful for invading.
- If you're not as good at PvP, then you can still be extremely valuable by focusing on kills, providing motes, banking them to send blockers, and damaging the Primeval.
- The longer that the Primeval is out, your team will gain a buff that increases the damage done to it.
- Combining a Sunbreaker Titan using the top path with a Blade Barrage Hunter or two is devastating and is almost an instant death of the Primeval.
- When you hear "Bank those motes"...BANK THOSE MOTES!!! If you have one or 14, bank them as soon as possible.

What’s important is that you can play this mode without the DLC, but you won’t get the trophy without purchasing it, even if you win.
