Kill 25 Fallen with precision shots in 1 mission without dying.

How to unlock the Bane of the Kell achievement in Destiny - Definitive Guide

Precision kills are just headshots, which can be done with most weapons,, but I find the Scout Rifles to be easier. Do this 25 times, without dying, and the achievement will pop.

Now, I did this on the mission "The Dark Within", which is mission three of the main story. Just as I got to the slope leading up to the Skywatch, I found two Fallen Dregs. I killed them, and carried on up the slope. Now the video starts just after I kill them, but if you look on the radar, I notice that there are enemies right where I had just previously killed some.

Sure enough, the two Fallen had respawned, and this time I had the higher ground so headshots were much simpler. As the video shows I kept on just walking away and coming back and they respawned every single time. I quit out the mission when I was done and came back in, and it happened all over again.

The video doesn't show the achievement pop, don't know if that's just something that the Game DVR doesn't record, but you can clearly see that I got it on my TA profile.

Something to consider when doing this to make it a bit easier for you!

Game DVR doesn't show achievement pops, that's normal. Nice find!

This worked for me, but I had to do the "logout"/"login" trick to get it to pop. My guys respawned in about 10 seconds every time. Thanks!

I would recommend doing the "Kill 25 X with Precision shots" achievements on the Patrol missions. Enemies spawn very easily while you are doing these missions and it can be done much faster.

Can confirm this works. I had to sign out / sign in for the achievement to pop though.

What should I do if I think an achievement is broken?
I've definitely done this dozens of times since I got the game last week but still no achievement.

I noticed it's the first game you've played on XB1? You may not know then, but sometimes Achievements on the XB1 can be a bit buggy and take a few days to unlock. The longest I've waited is a week, so it may just be lagging!

I used your guide and didn't notice the others at first. I wonder if the game has been patched to keep those two Dregs from respawning every time I went up the slope and back down again. I got them but then they never came back when I was around. But then, another random came into the game and they seemed to be there again but I missed the opportunity to get them.

Also, the two Dregs seemed to spawn for me when I kept going DOWNHILL from where they spawned and then came back up again.

Anyways, I precision killed those two Dregs, then made it to the top of the ramp and precision killed the two Vandals and the Knight. Went back down hill and came back up over and over again and the Vandals and the Knight kept respawning. Rinsed and repeated those enemy spawns and got the achievement a few days ago.

Thanks!

Here is my video contribution. This guide in particular shows you how you can get this no matter where you are in the game/what equipment by doing it in the first level.

Hunter Class is the best to choose as you'll find a sniper, but can be done in 5+ mins with any class.

Hope this helps!

Also; for those having trouble unlocking glitchy achievement do this:

Press the Menu button RB over to settings, highlight Log Out and choose Switch Profile (not Change Character). This will take you back to the game start screen, and once you press A, it will ask you to choose your Xbox Live profile.

Choose your profile and then choose your character from the character select screen. Any achievements that should have been unlocked will then unlock.

*Cheers to FLEEBS & ludo10109 for the info wink

The easiest way to get this is to go hunting Fallen enemies on Earth, the Moon or Venus during a patrol. It can also be done during a mission as the description states, but if done on patrol, the achievement will pop as soon as you get the 25th kill as opposed to having to finish the mission without dying.

Are you absolutely sure it works on the Moon because I've done this several times on the Moon now and the achievement still hasn't popped?
All the guides on here suggest Earth so I'm doing that later instead.

Anything with Fallen enemies should work. Look for Dregs, Vandals, Capitains or Servitors. As far as I know it wont work on Shanks as I've never seen a critical hit on them.

This trophy merely requires you to get 25 Fallen headshot kills in 1 mission without dying. Technically, any weak spot should do do, but this is most frequently the head on Fallen.

You can get this as early as the first level, A Guardian Rises. There are some 35-40 Fallen on the level, so as long as you are relatively precise, you shouldn't have a problem. You could also come back some other time, once you're more comfortable, or you can just wait for it to pop on its own since you are likely to do this quite a few times throughout the game.

A precision shot is essentially a critical hit, and in this instance requires a killing blow by headshot. If successful the enemy's head will disappear as a wisp of smoke escapes from their body. Fallen enemies are found mainly on Earth. This can be obtained during any story mission, or while doing a Patrol session. Probably best done with a Hunter using its sniper rifle, both for ease of the headshot itself and for keeping your distance so you won't get killed.

Precision kills on the Fallen require shooting at their heads. Vandals and Dregs will be the easiest to kill with precision shots. This will unlock during the mission, so you don’t have to go through the whole thing without dying. Scout rifles, hand cannons, and sniper rifles are the best weapons to use.

The following missions are the ones in which the Fallen appear. The tutorial mission or Restoration may be the best to do this, but this can also be done in Patrol missions. Where you first start patrol missions on Earth is a good place to do this.

Possible Missions:

Earth:
Tutorial
Restoration
The Dark Within
The Warmind
The Last Array
The Silent Fang (HOW)
The Ruling House (HOW)

Moon:
The Dark Beyond

Venus:
A Stranger’s Call
The Archive
Scourge of Winter
A Kell Rising (HOW)
Wolves’ Gambit (HOW)
Queen’s Ransom (HOW)

Mars:
A New Den (TTK)
The Prime’s Path (TTK)
