How to unlock the Lucky 7s achievement in Destiny - Definitive Guide
You earn grimoire score by completing tasks of all kinds (story missions, total kill counts with various methods, etc). Basically just by playing. I reached 785 grimoire score after about 15 hours of playing and that included a lot of wasted time.
Currently achievements (all of them) in Destiny are VERY glitchy and may not unlock when they should. If you think you've earned ANY achievement, to include this one, follow the below method to re-sync with the server and get previously earned achievements to unlock. Thanks to Scorch for bringing us the info from XBA.
Scorch - Log in to game. Go Settings. Under Logout, the below option is Change Profile. Click that and it forces you back to title screen. Select your Gamertag then Choose your Guardian. When it loads into the game they should unlock.
Also people are saying that the Grimoire cards you get from Bungie codes don't count towards the total, so potentially earning more could solve issue?
Keep us updated if you can get it to unlock or not, I'm really hopeful there is a fix..
To get this achievement simply pass a Grimoire Score of 777. Grimoire Score is displayed directly below your level on your playercard. You will unlock Grimoire Score by simply playing the game as normal for things such as finding dead ghosts, completing missions for the first time, playing multiplayer, earning a certain amount of kills with each character/weapon and so on. I passed 777 grimoire at level 15 after completing the first mission on Mars.
*** DESTINY GLITCHED ACHIEVEMENTS FIX ***
Destiny Achievements are VERY glitchy. In order to unlock achievements
you have already met the requirements for you must cycle your connection
to the Destiny servers. The easiest way to do this is as follows;
ENTER the game > Press START > LOGOUT > SWITCH PROFILE >
CHOOSE your GAMERTAG > SELECT your CHARACTER > POP goes the cheevo
Hope this helps!
Happy gaming

completing Events, Story Missions, Raids,
play all different Game Types in the Crucible (PvP),
while you discover new Areas, Enemies,
Revive dead Ghosts,
or simply reach a specific amount of Kills in the Game (You get Points from using specific Weapons like Scout Rifle Kill Ranks or Enemy Types like Fallen Captain Kill Rank for instance). There are even more Events and Encounters, that'll unlock Grimoire Points.
For every Grimoire Score unlocked, you'll granted Points towards your Grimoire Total Score.
At the point you cross the total score of 777 (as you may know 7 is Bungies special Number for whatever Reason), you'll unlock this Trophy.
You don't have to hit exactly 777 (this would have made this Trophy really hard).
Grimoire Score/Points unlock Grimoire Cards.
You have to visit the official Website to dive deeper in the Lore of Destiny and to take a look, what's written in those Cards,
With every new Expansion, Bungie adds more towards the Grimoire Score.
Good Hunting fellow Guardians
Grimoire score is basically a number that shows how much you've played Destiny. It tracks over all your characters (and is shared by them), and goes up based on everything in the game. Getting kills, completing missions, participating in PVP, etc. You can see your score in-game on your character's name plate or online here. This will unlock once you hit a score of 780 or more (there is no way to land on exactly 777, 780 is the closest) and there is no reason to go out of your way to do anything for this score. You will unlock it well before you finish the rest of the achievements.
This is another that will come over time. Every activity contributes to your Grimoire score. For example, your Hunter killing one Fallen enemy with a scout rifle will contribute to your totals for Hunter kills, Fallen kills, and scout rifle kills. Each enemy type, each class, ghost fragments, kills with each weapon type, Crucible wins in all modes, Raids, VIP Patrols, etc. all contribute to your Grimoire score. You even start off the tutorial with 30 and by the end have about 65 points. This is one that you don’t have to grind as it will come naturally over time.
The best tip to give about this is that collecting dead ghosts will add a significant amount to your grimoire score. Collecting the 50 for Ghost Hunter will add about 500 points. Thanks to Quikdrawjoe for the tip.
See Ghost Hunter for more info.
