After the first mission you get access to upgrades in the mothership. Just buy one for the Saucer, to unlock the achievement.

You need to change this. It needs to say Saucer, not Crypto.

Here is my 100% Achievement guide and full walkthrough so you don't miss a thing.

You can get this at any point after mission 1 depending on what you want to upgrade of course.
As long as you have enough DNA (by killing enemies mashing the cn_X button, collecting furon probes, finishing missions etc) you can get on your mothership, go to upgrades and pick any one to unlock this.

At the end of each mission you can perform ab upgrade.

Chose one saucer upgrade to unlock the trophy.
At the end of Turnipseed Farm, you can only upgrade one weapon..
