DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION

I'm still new at writing solutions so let me know if this helps out!

*** Overview ***

1) Earliest level you can unlock this achievement on: Sarif Manufacturing Plant (3rd level or 1st level depending on if you count the Sarif Laboratory and Sarif Office levels)

2) Approximate time to actually perform the hack and unlock the achievement: 15 seconds, less if you follow the quick guide below.

3) Missable achievement: No, this achievement is story relating and you must perform the hack to proceed on with the story

*** Achievement Guide ***

You will reach a point in the level where you must hack a keypad in order to open a door...

1) When you reach the keypad, press "X" to open the code input pad and then "Y" for hacking

2) On the "Analysis Report" press "X" to actually start hacking

3) Move left to the first node (Folder icon) and make sure you highlight it

4a) With the node still highlighted perform the following steps...

4b) Hold "X" on the xbox controller to open up a small menu which appears on top of the node

4c) While still holding "X" , press and hold the "Up" button on the xbox controller to select the top menu option (Capture) which displays an image of a Flag. Please note that in this step you must be holding the "X" and "Up" button at the same time.

4d) With the top menu option (Capture) selected, you can now release the "X" button and then release the "Up" button you were holding on the xbox controller

4e) Within a few seconds you will automatically capture the node and can proceed on to the next and final node

5) Simply move to the top right node, highlight the node, hold "X" to open the menu and keep holding "X", now hold "Up" to select the Flag (Capture) menu option, then release "X" and then release "Up".

6) Press "X" at the Access Granted message and your achievement should now be unlocked with a bonus of +25 exp.

*** Additional Notes ***

While performing this hack, you have the option of also "Fortifying" your base starter node and capturing another node to the bottom right (or bottom of the base starter node).

Note: Fortifying the base starter node and capturing the other additional node did not seem to grant any additional exp. I still received +25exp regardless of what I did.

If you do fortifying your base starter node it adds I believe an additional 12 seconds to the timer before the network detects your presence.

You should have no issues with the network detecting your presence if the follow the guide above as for the first hack, the game provides you with a lot of time to capture 2 nodes (35 seconds or more I believe, 45+ seconds if you fortifying your base starter node.

First hack is pretty easy, and I appreciate MxRugg taking the time to post up some help. I found my first attempts at hacking, especially in regards to stops and nukes, very confusing. So to help with this, I too put together a little tutorial. You can find it under the 50-hacks achievement.

But before you follow that link, I'll leave you with one tip: Save before you hack. Always! Thus, if you fail, just reload and start again. This is crucial in the beginning, as hacking does take some practice, and hacking becomes very important later in the game, especially for a stealthy playthrough.
