How to unlock the Sentimental Value achievement in DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION - Definitive Guide

When going for
Deus Ex: Human RevolutionMotherly TiesThe Motherly Ties achievement in Deus Ex: Human Revolution worth 13 pointsPut a grieving mother's doubts to rest.

In the room outside the police station where you find all the evidence there is a safe, in the safe (Level 3 Safe) is a bracelet. Take the bracelet.

Then when you go in to hand in the quest, the mother will ask if you found anything else. Just tell her no and the achievement will unlock.

The code for the safe is 7-1-9-6. Thanks to Riled Assassin for the code.

Just to add a bit, the safe has a lock level of 3 so you'll need to do some upgrading. If you can I'd also get a hold of some Stop worm or Nuke viruses in case you're detected early, or level your Stealth hack augmentation for less chance of detection.

+'ve vote for good guide - (the code) is worth a lot as it allowed me to skip back a Save Slot before I upgraded to Lvl3 Hacking - which I don't really need yet. Thanks again.

So I found the bracelet much after I completed the quest. Do I have to restart the game to get the achievement now?

This one is pretty simple, if you managed to get the safe code from the detective while doing the side quest Motherly Ties, if you were unable to get the safe code, you can find it under the spoiler.

After retrieving the bracelet and go back to your apartment to finish the quest, after you go through all the dialogue, the option to give Casandra the bracelet or keep it pops up.
Nothing happens if you give it to her, so just keep it.
(Maybe even sell it for more credits ha ha)

*Save*

For either one of these achievements you'll need to have at least a level 3 Hacking Augmentaion. If you don't have this, do some of the other side missions to gain some Praxis upgrades or buy some from the LIMB clinic. The next job is to refer to the achievement 'The Desk Job' below. This way you can get inside and around the area without anyone going hostile.

Either choice does not matter here, but being the good boy I am, I handed the bracelet over to her mother. You'll be confronted by Ms Reed upon exiting Sarif Industries for the first time. She'll then hand you a side mission to try and find the truth behind all the goings on. When you come to the lock up behind the police station, make sure you hack the safe

Once you've done the mission, return to Ms Reed and make your save here. Now all you need to do is decide on what choices you want to make and follow the dialogue. Either give her the bracelet to unlock the 'Motherly Ties' achievement then reload your save and keep it for this one. Just do the opposite if you want to hand it back as your final choice instead of keeping it.

The quest "Maternal Care" is given by Megan Reed's mother, immediately after your first exit to Detroit.

The bracelet is in the vault behind the police station, in a safe.

To get the trophy, you need to not give the bracelet to Megan’s mother at the very end of the quest, but keep it for yourself.
